Better than what was described, though the whole reason for the extortion was kind of lame, but I'm glad it's back to the fun times the show used to have. Hell, they even brought back the special guest singer.

The very end when Selleck (Mr. Cooper) said to Danny and Mike, “I'd tell you, but then I’d have to kill you” was great!
This episode wasn’t the best but I agree that I like Mike being in it a lot more and using James as a comic-relief guy. I didn’t care for the Jewish (I’m not a racist)-kid parts; they seemed way too forced and I hate that “70s style” hair that kids are sporting these days; I’m like Grandpa Simpson; get a haircut!
I must be completely out of the loop, but I’ve never even heard of MIMS before; of course, I don’t listen to much rap.

They should rename this series Cooper, L.V.!

Can't believe they already pulled off the Magnum P.I. reunion so soon.
Mike's subplot seemed like a retread, for some reason.
Gretchen reminded me of Jennie Garth.
Was the poker game a ruse to get Sam's lucky coin all along?

Not a good episode at all. The whole Piper thing, Mike's wife beater story, and Delinda's pastry chef story were just not interesting. The card game was okay, only for who was playing.

It seems like that for all their A-stories this year.
I think they also reused some footage from a previous episode in some of the quick transition scenes.

The pastry chef was hot.

Blah episode. They had done such a good job with Mike's character this season that this seemed completely out of character. He works best as comic relief but the show as a whole works better when it doesn't take itself so serious.
Still I really like Piper and I hope they add her as a regular and give her and Sam's "friendship" some more screen time.

I've had the hots for Camille Guaty (Piper) since I saw her in the first season of Prison Break. She isn't the most conventionally attractive woman, but something about her does it for me.

I also liked this episode for the Magnum P.I. reunion; but it wasn’t that great of an episode and the ‘Out of Character’ Mike didn’t impress me much. One thing that (and I know I really shouldn’t be pin pointing the various flaw of Las Vegas) I noticed was that when Mike through the gun at that wife beating (who’s the guy from Sue Thomas F.B. Eye) guy; don’t you think the police would dust for fingerprints?
I don’t like Piper at all either; they overdid the ‘her trying to scare everybody’ gig. I thought it would be good with only 5 main characters, but the show feels sort of ‘empty’ and the writers seem a little lost with the shortening of the cast.
wasn't terrible, but wasn't anything that good either.

Oh, and the comment about how "there was supposed to be a British guy" visiting Cooper also..

Anyone else catch the line about the fourth friend that was supposed to play in the game but couldn't make it, hence the reason that Sam got in the game? Loved how they said that he was a british writer millionaire or soemthing like that. Obviously referring to Higgins.
