On that NBC.com blog that was mentioned earlier, Gary Scott Thomson revealed some of the special features for the Season 4 DVD set
March 09, 07:10 PM DVD Commentary Gary- We just finished season four commentary. Molly and I did two episodes, James did one episode and Vanessa and I did the season finale commentary. We have about 30 minutes of behind the scenes, and I did commentary on that. A little documentary of behind the scenes of Las Vegas |

Las Vegas may also exist in the same fictional universe as other NBC shows in addition to Crossing Jordan :In the Heroes episodes "Collision" and "Hiros", Hiro, Ando, Nathan, and Niki all stay at the Montecito. In the episode "Distractions" Ando and Hiro wear badges that match the logos seen on Las Vegas. In the Las Vegas episode "The Story of Owe" (which first aired on Friday, November 10, 2006), Mary mentions to Mike that Dunder-Mifflin (from The Office) had booked rooms at the Montecito for a convention, and that security would have to be beefed up. |
Las Vegas *Season Premiere* -- "A Hero Ain't Nothing But A Sandwich" -- 09/28/07
"A Hero Ain't Nothing But A Sandwich"
Spoiler:
First Aired: Friday September 28, 2007 |
I thought Sam owned the Montecito??
So the only main original cast members left are Danny, Delinda, Sam and Mike, right? Hopefully they make the Asian nail salon chick a more prominent character. |
It will be interesting to see how they sort out the clusterfuck that was last season's finale.

BTW, I watched the first 7-minutes on NBC.com and looks like they've gotten rid of the Elvis opening song and went with the DVD version. |
What happened to Nikki Cox at the end of the season? Is she not coming back?
|
^ It'll be (I assume) wrapped up tonight. But no, Nikki Cox is not coming back. Budget cuts.

Poor Nikki, she couldn't afford to feed herself before (right? I mean, nobody makes themselves that skinny, do they?), what's she going to do now? :p |

Anyways, I’m actually pretty pumped for the 2 hour *Season 5 premiere* tonight. I know Las Vegas isn’t *Emmy* Award winning Television or anything but its damn entertaining & I love the style of the show. I’m glad that Nikki Cox is leaving (well fired) because her character, Mary, hasn’t really been needed since the second season in my opinion & she pretty much dwindled around in season 3 & she was only important in the final 2 episodes of season 4. I’m sad that Caan is leaving but I think Mr. Selleck will be an excellent edition/replacement to the cast. The Show needs a lead; Duhamel couldn’t carry the show in my opinion. Can’t wait! |
I think Selleck is a perfect choice to replace Caan. I actually read that they started filming this season way back in April. I believe they wanted to finish shooting all 22 episodes before the potential WGA strike that's been talked about.
Glad to see that Caan will be in the opener to wrap up his storyline. |
is the show getting 22 episodes this year? or 17 or whatever like last season?

Only caught the first part (watched the Numbers opener). I thought it was OK and seemed to get back to the fun drama (the finale was so chaotic and serious).

Watched the 2hr. premiere & I thought it was pretty good but I’m still a little confused on who killed Mary’s father…
Spoiler:
Anyways, other than that I thought it was a pretty strong fifth season opener & I think Selleck will be good for the show, once the writers know exactly where they want to take his character. I’m sad that Caan decided to leave but I’m glad that Cox is gone, because they really didn’t know what to do with her character (Mary) for the past 2 seasons. Regarding the theme music, they still used Elvis’s ‘A Little Less Conversation’. |
Ed and Mary both shot him, but Ed's shot was the kill shot to the heart.
Hopefully they are now past all this dramatic nonsense and get back to the fun Las Vegas that we saw in S1 and S2. |

Guess they just used the DVD opening song online due to licensing issues. And while I liked Mary, she really had nothing to do, so might as well take the character out. |

Anyways, it seems to me that all we have coming over from the last season, that we need to worry about, is Sam pushing the whale out of the plane and Danlinda's child. I can see Cheryl Ladd coming back around the time of the birth of her grandchild, but it'll be tricky to bring Ed back.

I like the way that he handled the oncology doctor (a.k.a. Sandra Huckstable's husband Elvin), and let him off. Ed would have thrown him in a room and beat it out of him. One of the things I'm curious of is Copper's past and his being a Marine (like Danny) and how that will play out. ... that, and to see who he picks to run the Montecito. Here's to Friday Nights! |

I thought the cop said that Danny's gun-residue test came back negative, telling me that he never fired a shot. |
Did anyone figure out who owns the Montecito?
|
I thought the Cooper character was interesting. Decent start to the season.
|
I liked Cooper's speech to Elvin. That was pure awesome. Already Selleck has equaled Caan.
|
Selleck was decent, that will need to fine tune the chemistry, i will miss Ed but they did good

I was thinking the same thing when Cooper was telling the Doc. How he would loss his million back to the Montecito & then go back home & save some lives. I thought, if Ed was still there, the Doc. would have been punched in the face & thrown out the door. |
