Yeah, that episode was pretty interesting. I don't know why it was called Heroes, though. Lots going on, but I really missed the humor. Usually at least Mike comes through, but oh well. Still, lots of cliffhangers and was definitely entertained. Was it just me or did it look like a war started at the Montecito?

On a side note... about three weeks ago Delinda was on the Carson Daly show (why I was watching that...I don't know). She said they had just finished shooting the season finale and mentioned that someone died in the episode but wouldn't say who. After watching the episode, if what she says is true, than I guess we at least sort of know what happened to one of the character's. I guess we'll see in six or seven months when it premieres.

Pretty nutty season finale. Hated the distraught vet subplot that just got shoehorned in for an extra bit of chaos at the end.

Snowmaker 03-10-07 09:18 AM

So there were only 17 episodes this season? I thought it seemed short.

TheMovieman 03-10-07 12:18 PM

I just hope after they wrap up the stories (did not ONE of them get resolved?) they give a little humor that I liked the show for. Otherwise, I'm likely to stop watching as I have a dislike for overly dramatic soap opera-like shows...

ChrisHicks 03-10-07 04:00 PM

I'm extremely happy the show was renewed or I would have been majorly POed if the show ended like this for good.

movieking 03-10-07 05:15 PM

I really liked this episode, especially with all of the hectic storylines. They tend to do this in the season finale, but never the amount of storylines they have this time.

Here are my guesses:

Spoiler:
We heard three shots, so I think that all three shot Mary's father (no gunsmoke from anyone though). Mary will take the blame, hence she will go to jail (or she might get off and move). Ed will retire and move away with Jillian (who'll be back semi-regularly to see Delinda). Danny and Delinda will stay a couple (Mary will be gone) and have the baby. Sam will be back and will co-own the place with Ed, who will be a silent partner. Mike will be Mike

Chauzer 03-10-07 06:35 PM

damn, so much stuff going on

Mary's dad is probably dead.
For next year:
Spoiler:
If Caan is gone, it's going to be tough to recover from that. They need someone that's not afraid to go Old School Vegas on cheaters and the like. With Danny's supposedly shipping out the next day, and with Ed out of the picture to prevent the General from shipping him out, it's going to be hard to pick this storyline up starting the next day.

Red Dog 03-10-07 10:48 PM

This episode sucked harder than last week's. Las Vegas is supposed to be fun, dammit.

nateman 03-11-07 12:21 AM

One of the producers said in an interview said this was shot before all that happened so they have no clue right now what they're going to do. He said they wrote it like this as a way to get another season but they didn't know their budget would be cut.
One time they are going to have a season finale cliffhanger and then find out the show got cancelled and we will never find out what the fuck happens. im glad we will see a season 5.
Great episode last night, i hate that there were only 17 episodes this season (18 if they split the 2 hour episode, if the show ever goes into syndication) but it was a good season overall.

i was watching that too, but i watch Conan Before that everynight and i left it on (god knows why) and i remember her saying that. i can't believe we have to wait 5-6 months for season 5, i hope the ratings don't dip even more like when crossing jordan came back this season and lost alot of viewers cause it was 8 months since season 5.

I don't really like serious drama Las Vegas. I like light, fluffy and beautiful Las Vegas

way too much going on, the vet storyline was unnecessary so was Ed's wife. Im sure they will wrap up this cliffhanger in one episode next season and get back to light and fluffy again, kinda like Smallville does.

Molly Sims and executive producer Gary Scott Thompson held a blog the other day. It has some info about the future of the show. The first post by GST said the following,

GST here - Hope you liked the season finale. Talk about your cliffhanger! To answer a few questions: Yes, there will be a season five with 22 episodes. We start shooting in April. No, I don't know about changing timeslots. Yes, Nikki and James are leaving, but we hope both will come back for guest spots. Like the the real Las Vegas...things changed. We are saddened by James and Nikki's decisions to move on, but we wish them the best of luck, we thank them for four wonderful years. I want everyone to remember, the best shows on TV undergo cast changes like ER, Cheers, Law and Order, just to name a few.

Remember the name of the show is Las Vegas and we plan on being on the air for another four years.
There's some other stuff too, http://blog.nbc.com/lasvegas/

TheMovieman 03-11-07 09:41 PM

I just hope they replace Caan with someone with just as much presence...

Original Desmond 03-13-07 03:38 AM

So it was the actors decision to leave, that's fair enough, i'm not sure what they have to move onto.

I think the show can survive

movieking 03-13-07 04:42 AM

It was not Cox's decision, she was let go for "budget reasons".

What they could not afford all the callogen it kept to keep her lips full from scene to scene?

I would say I will miss Cox, but I have missed her since she started all that horrible butchering of herself.

They will be missed.

Even she can't help but stare at them:

Finally, a role perfect for Nikki Cox!

Nikki Cox is ready to go under the knife for CBS' plastic surgery comedy pilot "Fugly."

Also snagging pilot roles for CBS are Beverly D'Angelo and Amber Valetta.

"Fugly" comes from "My Name Is Earl" creator Greg Garcia and focuses on three siblings -- identical twin girls and a brother -- who pool their resources to get one plastic surgery for one of the girls (Cox). The family then heads off to Hollywood to turn her new-found good looks into cash. Marissa Jaret Winokur will play the unaugmented sibling. But wait, you might be thinking, Nikki Cox and Marissa Jaret Winokur don't look anything like siblings. Expect that to be the subject of much mirth.

It was recently announced that Cox won't be returning to her gig on NBC's "Las Vegas," due to budgetary cuts, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Cox previously cut her sitcom teeth on The WB's seminal comedy "Unhappily Ever After."

D'Angelo ("National Lampoon's Vacation") will appear opposite Stephen Dorff in the drama "Skip Tracer," about a guy who tracks down people who attempt to disappear. The Golden Globe and Emmy nominated actress will play the main character's mother, in prison for killing her husband.

Meanwhile, Valletta ("Hitch") will play the vampire sire of the undead private investigator (Alex O'Laughlin) in the "Angel"-esque drama "Twilight," which we guess makes her the pilot's Darla.

That was a painful episode. One week they can ID a guy off the reflection from another guy's retina in 2 minutes...last night they couldn't find Sam, Mary or Danny for most of the episode.

The "hit" on the Montecito was out of nowhere.

There was just too much going on and most of the situations were laughable.

That being said, I can't wait for next season

Yeah, it makes me want to break out Rainbow Six: Vegas!

Spoiler:
Maybe Danny won't go to war, since he was going to fill in for UA guy. Now that UA guy (probably) blew himself up, Danny won't need to fill in for him.

Aside: I understand IADs are relatively easy to manufacture, but how easy is it to score a soldering iron in a casino?

DJariya 03-15-07 02:11 PM

It was a pretty crazy episode.

I'm glad that NBC is giving them 22 episodes next season. GST's blog is quite interesting, he says they start shooting season 5 next month? That's a very early start to next season. Most shows don't start filming until June or July. I assume they are trying to shoot the premiere early with Caan and Cox as guests while they are still available to wrap up their storylines.

jdslater1 03-16-07 12:09 AM

I know it's a little of topic but I was watching Heroes eps 4 (we just got it in the UK) and when Hiro and his friend walk into the casino I could swear its the Montecito. It was written on the wall to the right as they walk into main room.
This sounds like a heavy episode, we haven't got this season yet over here. We just finished the season with Ed being shot. I think it is TVs guilty pleasures. Ideally they could replace Caan with Alec Baldwin but 30 Rock has ruled that out.

Has 30 Rock been renewed? Seems like it's been getting piss poor ratings so you never know...

jdslater1 03-16-07 08:29 AM

I just assumed they cancelled Studio 60 and kept the other one.
