I won't bother posting the pictures of the new Joker / Batmobile, but let's just say, it's not looking good.
Superherohype.com has the pictures if you want to see them.

Too bad. Batman: Year One wouldn't be too bad.

Here is a PDF from Mattel that has pictures of the Batman, Joker, and Batmobile toys:

Honestly, seeing these pictures made me cringe, especially the Joker.

What did some of you think of Batman Beyond? I know it wasn't proper Batman, but the storylines were for adults as much as children, they took a risk with that series, I thought it was very cool, I guess Batman purists would miss Wayne as Bats, but the future concept was done well.

I loved it. Part of that was because of the new technology stuff, but part of it was because they kept Conroy as Bruce Wayne.Originally posted by SeanValen

I loved Batman Beyond. It handled the future of Bruce perfectly. He is a bitter old man, with all this stuff, but he still wants to fight crime. He finds a possible hero, tho reckless in Terry and trains him. The biggest problem with the series was lack of good villians.
This however, this is a disgrace.

Argh. I hated Batman Beyond. That piece of garbage has no place in any Batman mythos

I like this new Batman look. It reminds me of some of the old Bob Kane-era drawings. The Batmobile is kinda eh, but the Joker? Ick!

I only saw a handful of Batman Beyond episodes; I really enjoyed them, though. It felt like "Batman" to me even if it was well out of continuity.
I'm starting to worry about this new show now...

I loved Batman Beyond. I think the fact that it was so out of continuity helped suspend disbelief although it did stay true to the vein of the character. I dunno about this one.
BTW what the heck is up with the Joker? It looks like he had a run in with some Ninja Turtle goop.

Well.... that certainly doesn't instill a positive reaction. Then again, I doesn't make me feel negative either. I feel indiferent. About Batman. That in of itself is bad. But I'll wait until I see some footage or that sneek peak three days from now.

I like Batman Beyond, but it felt castrated. You watch Batman: The Animated Series, and it doesn't feel like it's being held back. Sometimes I'd be watching, and I'd be like "Ugh, that's just too kiddie for me.." which I'd never feel in most of the original Batman Animated episodes.
The best part of it was the actual story for it seemed like a very natural progression from the Animated Series.

I thought it dealt with some weighty issues in and of itself. For one Terry's father was brutally murdered by gang bangers. They have also dealt with drug addiction, corupt corporations, politics, destroying of old neighborhoods, genetic manipulation, other addictions and other topics that I thought were quite mature for the medium. Sure there were the occasional people riding on playing cards but even those episodes had a good quality about them.

Hey! I loved the riding on playing cards guys!
No, you're right. I just ment sometimes I felt it was too forumulated, and parts were just in there in a kind of 2nd thought "Oh right... this is a show for tween boys... better throw in some more corny punchlines during the fights..." which is really only missing from the very early Batman TAS episodes.

Did anyone else catch the preview? They didn't really show enough for me to form a good opinion. Batman definately looks well drawn. Not as young as I was afraid he would look. I'm just afraid of the writing.
I didnt' know that it will come out in the fall. That is really far away. I thought they would hype it and it would be released in a month or two.
