Yeah, I noticed.

Liked the Mexico episode even more than the first, for reasons I already mentioned.

I like this episode, maybe not as much as the first though. I found the solution a little bit too unrewarding, and well, too hard The only think that could tip you off is the "pint" thing, and I figured that was just a writer's mistake.

Randy Newman's song pisses me off. Not only do I find the old theme waaay better, the new opening is HIGHLY inferior... the old one was PERFECT, instead we are now given clips from episodes instead of the clever opening of the first season.

And I thought it was too easy. As soon as I heard about the drowning, I thought "That's impossible -- he must be lying." The second impossible murder clinched it for me. Of course, I didn't know why he was lying until Monk revealed it, but I knew something fishy was going on.

I was so looking forward to my weekly dose of Monk but it was rerun I thought for sure that they were going to show Mr. Monk goes to the baseball game ...turns out that isn't till the 11th. But in the mean time I've been going to the USA website and playing the detective games....has anyone else played them ?

I guess you're right there. I knew something was up, espically when he talked about how Monk is so famous and he'd never been to the US (you don't put lines like that in there without a reason) but I like being able to solve everything. There's no way of knowing about Monk's past case... and I found that a little lame.

I thought the episode was pretty good , despite the slight slip with the drowning thing. I couldn't figure out what the connection was between Monk and the coroner...I guess they had something last season about Monk putting him in jail, and the whole grudge...but I missed it

Nope -- the grudge was totally new, revealed in this episode. The coroner had never been seen (by the viewers) before.

Well at least i feel better knowing I wasn't the only one who couldn't figure it out! But I am looking forward to the next episode...when Monk's at a baseball game. I mean the people, the bathrooms (eww the bathrooms, can't blame him on that one), haha even better the hot dogs...Monk would probably die before touching one of those!! I think it's going to be a great episode. The possibilites are endless. What do you guys think?

Maybe he could turn out to be an on going bad guy that can haunt Monk.

ohh that would be a pretty nice twist to things...especially with their past history (Monk placing him in jail and all). I wonder if the network will take the idea and run with it.

Until that time i'll be watching Mr. Monk at the ballgame...getting into trouble with the hot dogs and the eww horrible bathrooms any of you guys watching tomorrow night?

Every time I hear that damn_theme, I think of an old Mad TV sketch which had Randy Newman composing Star Wars.

I saw the trailer on the usa site, it looks great. I cannot believe he was cleaning the Jordan autograph off that basketball.... i almost died when i saw that.

My computer recording of the show was messed up, so I had to re-recorded the show over again when it was broadcast again on Thursday night at 11:30pm.

The strange thing is that the 1st season theme song and opening had been restored. The 2nd season opening was not apart of the "Monk goes on an Airplane" when it was played later in the week.

Did anyone else catch this.

E.T. was playing and caused Monk to start late (11:32pm instead of 11:00pm), maybe the 2nd season opening is longer than the 1st season. To save time they must of used the old theme.

Actually the Mr. Monk goes on an Airplane episode was from season 1 - hence the old intro. I think 'cuz of the holiday last week they didn't play new episode (the folks at the network aren't smart enough to swap themes to save time lol).

They did air a rerun over the holiday weekend...IMO it was a good idea cause I know I wasn't able to watch. But did you guys catch the baseball epi.? I almost died laughing when that poor little boy fell while walking across home plate...and the basketball Mike Jordan thing...I honestly think I would have killed Monk...but being on the other end of things it was pretty funny.
