I remember hearing the guy who does the "Special Ed" character ("yaaaaayyyyyyyy!") on Howard Stern the other week. He alluded to the fact that a couple of his calls could never be released due to consent issues.

I haven't found another article supporting this claim, but I did find something in the Sacramento Bee about the series: "Filming the call in progress was too costly because calls are made throughout the country." and "Victims are determined through hearsay and are mainly friends of friends and other recommendations." To me, "...throughout the country" implies more than just New York and Nevada, though it's still rather unclear.

As far as Special Ed's comments go, it could be something mandated by Comedy Central's legal folks or just common courtesy. Someone who doesn't agree after the call back could very well file some sort of lawsuit or drum up some bad press. "Weird Al", for instance, always asks for permission before parodying an artist and even pays royalties to the songwriters, even though he's under no legal obligation to do so.

My question is the Touch Tone Terrorists. Since people call them accidentally by dialing the wrong number do they have to get permission? I would imagine no since most of the people are so angry I doubt they could get it.

If you haven't heard their other calls (insurance claim calls, car repo service, etc) they are about 100 times better than the regular Crank Yanker calls, but do to the fact most people are screaming profanity at them non stop they probably couldn't be aired.

Does anyone know what episode has the phone call that David Allen Grier makes...he calls a porn hotline while he's sick with the flu. Then as she talks to him he throws up?

Do they even name the episodes? They put a title on the calls, but I don't know how you'd ever find it unless it's on the website. David Alan Grier hasn't done a whole bunch. I think I only saw him a couple of time and both were the vomiting bit.

Its my favorite show on tv. And I missed the damn thing because of my night film class. I set my vcr to tape it but it never ****ing records when I program it I think its broke.

I thought the silverman, kimmel, and carrolla bits were hilarious as usual, but the last guy who just repeats the same thing with the music guy tracking down a song was just bad.

Hmm... I missed it, but being Comedy Central it should be on several times a week. I'm looking forward to the guest stars this season. I only know of Dr. Drew and Jeff Goldblum, but I'm sure there should be more because there are supposed to be a lot more episodes this season.

It's lowbrow no doubt, but what the hell.

I like the Bobby Fletcher character the most; the guy with the beer bong hat who calls about jobs and then repeatedly belches, causing the person on the other end to be taken aback. I'm a sucker for belching and farting. Always makes me larf.

Willie at YPS is also hilarious. I don't like that old man, though. As voiced by Corolla, he's enervating and not very funny.

Ya sure you don't mean the old man voiced by Jimmy? Jimmy does the really old man with the hearing problem. Adam's main character is supposed to be an old shop teacher with a morbidly obese wife. I could see someone finding Adam's voice irritating, but I think that's one of the most consistently funny characters on the show.

Really? I stand corrected. The old man with the hearing problem sure sounds like Corolla.

Another hysterical voice from the show is a sarcastic woman. In one episode, a crank victim kept laughing after she spoke, as if she found herself amusing. The female prankster took the ball and ran with it. She laughed with obvious insincerity until, at the end, she was cackling uncontrollably. This same actress also insults the people under her breath, like calling someone a retard while the person is still talking. I think she also did the voice of the representative from the sewage depot, who called a couple to tell them of a quota on bowel movements: "Hold it in, we all win".

It's a funny show, but some of the segments bomb, while others are riotous.

I thought it was pretty funny, the repeat after the premier still cracks me up with "turd in the car" segment.

I think that was Sarah Silverman - who also did the 'Lost and Found' call. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree, the "turd in the car" segment was classic. Another good character I just recalled is the "You're in the Phoooone Zoooone!!" guy. I hope he's used more in the second season.

Still kicking myself for missing the premiere. :( The show became such a 'guilty pleasure' of mine last season that I used Bobby Fletcher as a username at another forum I visit.

I've been watching this show lately (rather, listening to it while I surf), there are some very funny episodes.

I personally like the OCD guy.

Then there was a show a week or two ago where the guy was talking with an English or Scottish accent and called some town in Washington (Austoria?), saying he was wanting to open a new place there. As the conversation went on he was talking about how it was a halfway house for convicted sex offenders, all types, but that it was OK because 86% of them never committed any more crimes. And that there would be thousands of them in this new facility, and how they like to do community outreach programs and work with the childrens groups to show that they are cured. And that the lady from the city would be famous because they would tell everybody that it was only because of her politeness and generosity that they were there... Very funny.

I LOVE This show.
