The Special Ed calls KILL ME...YYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY

Jackskeleton 08-02-02 04:51 PM

I'm not much of a fan. I can only really take a few minutes of it before it bores me.

Deftones 08-02-02 06:44 PM

I like it. Adam Carolla as the Vietnam Vet Bercham is hilarious.

darkside 08-02-02 08:04 PM

I love this show and look forward to it every Sunday.

The Touch Tone Terroists doing the UPS misdials are about the funniest thing I've ever seen.

Jimmy Kimmel does some pretty good characters like Elmer. The one were Jimmy called the Porno store and his mom kept coming on the line was great.

Sarah Silverman is great as Hadassah Guberman. The call were she is trying to force her way into a babysitting job was excellent.

Wanda Sykes does Gladys Murphy and those are all great calls. The one where she calls pretending to be a porno store looking for the ladies husband is great, not to mention the classic "who crapped in my back seat" call.

Tracy Morgan is solid as Spoonie Luv.

There have been a lot of other good callers as well. Heck Super Dave Osborne even did a couple.

Love him! Best one was when he was trying to get he construction job and started ranting about the buddies he lost in 'Nam .... "Pierce, Hunnicut ... they never made it back!"

Also giggle at Niles Standish and is love of "a good ass slapping."

Slumbering Fist 08-03-02 12:50 PM

Actually I loved the first episode, but my interest has been teetering out. I think maybe I like one call per show. Some of the prankers are a little dull to me, like the barfing guy, the retard, and the belching guy are sort of one joke characters- funny the first prank call, but old by the second. I love Wanda Sykes, Sarah Silverman and Stephen Colbert, wish they would do more, as well as Dave Chappel and Dave Attel, whose calls on the show, so far, have stunk.

Bust 08-03-02 04:30 PM

I'm not sure who did the call, but one of my favorites so far was the fake radio contest when they called the 7-11.

"You're on with Boomer and the Nudge!"

Julie Walker 08-03-02 08:37 PM

I only saw one episode.......the first part dealing with a UPS company & the lady wanting to find out what happened to her package,& she keeps getting re-directed to the same people over in over..including one guy who's very rude was hialrious since it's so true for anyone who's ever had to go through this!

The 2nd sketch i found dull as hell & turned the channel..have'nt seen the show since.

Didn't seem too inspired upon first glance, but after I caught the marathon a few weeks ago I am a fan. I like Sarah Silverman on this show "I like you, I'm Hired" highlarity.
Also any show with Tenacious D and Ween guest spots couldn't be bad.

I caught a miinute of this show once, they had someone doing a karl Malone sketch. It had something to do with him getting beenie babies and barbie dolls. Any idea who the caller was on this one?

Jimmy Kimmel from The Man Show does Karl Malone.

tygloalex 08-05-02 06:49 PM

I'd just to saw that they have amassed quite a good group of callers including:
Jimmy Kimmel
Denis Leary
Adam Carolla
Tracy Morgan
Kevin Nealon
Dave Attell
Dave Chappelle
David Alan Grier
Artie Lange (from imdb.com, but I don't remember  )

I enjoy the show, but don't like the puppets. So I just listen to the show while playing around on the computer or when I am doing housework.

Funny calls.

Has anybody bought the CD?

MadameTourvel 08-11-02 11:30 AM

My problem with the show is: funny calls, BAD puppetry.

I can listen to the show and laugh out loud, but I have to turn off the TV itself. The lip-synch is terrible, because the puppeteers are not doing the speaking themselves. And the puppets have been designed by someone completely devoid of imagination.

Go watch some old Muppet Show stuff, and then watch Crank Yankers. You'll want to cry.

G. Noel Gross 08-12-02 05:34 PM

I love the puppetry. Especially the sets ... like when Bercham had all the cuts drawn on the wall to get his jumbo-bride out of the house.

Snake Plissken 08-12-02 05:54 PM

Nobody comes close to the brilliance of Jim Florentine.

Jepthah 08-12-02 06:25 PM

I was very impressed with the art direction in Hadassah's room. I've known chicks just like her. It's scary.

Kube 08-18-02 09:52 PM

Crank Yankers - do callers have to give permission...

to use their calls on the show?

tygloalex 08-18-02 11:51 PM

I don't think so. Most of those people probably wouldn't consent to it. I'm pretty sure the Jerky Boys never got consent either.

Copenhagen 08-18-02 11:54 PM

I doubt it as in the opening credits....screw the innocent :)

Jackskeleton 08-19-02 12:21 AM

I wonder how many are fake? :p

Some people get pretty damn_fired up.

Rubix 08-19-02 09:20 AM

the jerky boys had to get consent and so does anyone else.

Icculus 08-19-02 09:48 AM

They must have to give their consent, otherwise there would be a ton of lawsuits dealing with illegally recording phone calls etc.

Adam Tyner 08-19-02 10:21 AM

Consent isn't required for telephone taping in New York and Nevada. Guess where the pranks for Crank Yankers are recorded?
