Actually I thought that SJP looked much YOUNGER in this episode. I love her her new haircut and thought it was a lot more flattering. She finally looks like she is in her mid-thirties, whereas before with the long curly hair she looked like she was trying to still look 20. And as a result it just made her look older.

I think the new do made her look more youthful & vivacious. And I was wondering if she got the Botox or something because she seemed to have less wrinkles than she had last season, although maybe it was better lighting.

Sex and the City - 7/28/02

I know some people have grown tired of this show, but I found tonight's episode to be wonderful. Kristin Davis is making a bid for an Emmy nomination of her own, and it was fun to see Sedaris and Shannon and of course Meara. I love the way this show continues to weave Carrie's column into the real life issues facing all four women.

Yes...excellent start to the new season. I hope Shannon becomes a regular cast member...I also noticed that Ron Livingston is going to be on the show, that should be fun.

I have liked this show since the beginning and it hasn't faltered for me at all...always good acting and writing.

I agree das, Kristin Davis really shined on last night's episode. I thought she was quite good most of last season too. When she had that breakdown at Miranda's baby shower? That was probably her best episode/performance (IMO).

Last night's episode was wonderful.

They captured the sites and people in Atlantic City pretty damn well that's for sure.

Good episode especially for Samantha and I like the Miranda character more and more with each show.

I competely agree. The ability of the writers and actors to capture the joy and angst of women's lives is nothing short of spectacular. If it's possible I like each character more every episode. Nuances within nuances - each actress deserves an emmy.

Abso-*****ing-lutely! After I watched it, one word came to mind. Bravo!! Everything about the show was perfect. When Carrie screamed on the phone in the background when she heard Richard say the girls could take his private jet to Atlantic City? I fell off the couch. Good stuff.

They started a new season of this show? I haven't been watching HBO at all lately.

Great episode. Had a wonderful story to tell and the parallel with Carrie's life and Atlantic City was impressively told.

See - I wrote this whole half-page critique of this episode, pointing out why I thought this episode in particular was as flat as they come.

And then because of server problems the whole thing got wiped out.

Suffice it to say that I thought this was the most rote, forced and banal of all the new episodes. The girl-talk over brunch scene was grating in the extreme - and this was one of the first times I've caught the principal actresses "capital A" Acting in the course of the series.

And the spunky way the wardrobe person used to flirt with that "trashy" fashion edge has now plunged off the deep end into total parody. Between Parker's raccoon eye makeup and (baby or no) chunky macrame sweaters, Davis' 18th-century stiff-necked white blouse, and Cattral's fictional, anti-sexy pearl thong - it's almost like a Peter Gabriel-era Genesis concert on "Sex."

I finally watched this show for more than 2 minutes and it's not bad.

Glad to hear I'm not he only one who thinks Sarah Jessica Parker's new be head hair and racoon make up is pathetic. She is a beautiful woman, and she looks so ugly in recent episodes!

Yeah, I too rolled my eyes on that one. It was like, "Look, she's an uptight, goody-goody...get it? Do you get it?"

Sex and the City 8/11

Another good episode last night. I especially enjoyed Miranda's Weight Watcher's sub-plot. "The over-eater over-ate her."

Looking forward to next week's episode with Ron Livingston.

So...no comments on the 2 incidences of fellatio?

I'll never look at a glazed donut in the same way again (but I will eat them at any given opportunity.

Was there too much "product placement" in this episode? I didn't think so.

I wish they would get charlotte more involved in some kind of story line.

Is anyone else a little sick of Carries overacting moments since last season? I can't quite put my finger on what she's doing and she did'nt do it in this episode so much but she does the thing with her fingers pointing and chages her voice slightly. I used to love the show but she's getting on my nerves lately.

Related to the show I was almost wondering if
Spoiler:
Samantha was leaving the show based on how she and Carrie were to each other after Sam took the package delivery...
Real tension there I had not seen before....

That was precisely what bothered me last week - as I saw that deliberate not really "acting," but "mugging" going on an awful lot during last week's girl-talk brunch segment.

This week was 1000% improved. Although the number of product placements in this episode was a little disturbing. Did they need to get through the whole season's worth of endorsements in one episode?

While it's always nice to see Stanley - I'd like to see the return of some of Carrie's other old pals? What happened to the guy she met at the Bed, Bath & Beyond to talk about "secret sex"? You know the guy that was bedding the chubby delicatessen counter worker and who was bringing this girl to the same hideaway Chinese food restaurant? He'd be a great recurring character.

Will this be the last of the Miranda's feeling (and looking) pudgy post-baby episodes? That body suit she's wearing to simulate the post-pregnancy poundage can't be at all comfortable.
