I thought Taye Diggs might have been "the One" but that ended so anticlimactic considering the build-up of that relationship.

Bring back Patrick Dempsey as "Matt" the sports guy. I doubt Patrick would be on Grey's Anatomy now if he hadn't had done those 2 episodes of W&G. It kinda re-invented his career.

OK fine...

DO NOT READ THIS....if you don't want be spoiled...

In the next episode...Vince is back. He comes to will's fathers funeral and he's broken up with his boyfriend. From this point on, he and will are back together.
Grace has the baby...and finds out that Leo is living in Rome and broke off his engagement. She has to decide in the last episode what to do...and decides to go and live with Leo in Rome...leaving Will and Vince in NYC.
There's also apparently a dream sequence with Will being bald, grace being really fat...and they've raised the kid and he ends up a homophobic brat. Oh...and Jack is married to Kevin Bacon, I believe.
I'm not sure what happens to Jack and Karen.

"Will & Grace" series finale

Even though the last two years have been pretty bad, the finale, I have to say, was pretty good. And one of the better series finales I've ever seen. Great send off.

I thought it was also a good send-off for these characters, and it didn't totally blow them up or de-construct them for the sake of pissing on memories of the characters.

The college twist that turned into W&G: The Next Generation providing the hetero relationship that W&G could never be was also a nice touch.

I actually shed a tear when Jack & Karen did their duet.

Megan (Karen) was having a hard time seeing in the key of Karen for a bit on that duet.

OK, I was flipping through and caught a bit of this. In about 30 seconds time, I heard an old lady say, "Suck it, bitch!" and another woman refer to a guy's balls. And the audience was hooting like high schoolers. What is this, South Park?

Admittedly, I've only watched this show once or twice over the years, but I had no idea that network TV was so raunchy these days. Has this show always been like this?

yeah they get away with a lot- but i wouldn't quite call it "South Park" because will and grace is usually a funny show, unlink SP which can just get old. i really like the rosario/jack/karen plotline.
it was an ok episode and a good send off. now if they would only release all the dvds SOONER (i think they still have a few seasons to release)

That was an amazing finale, and as others have said, a great sendoff.

I loved the way Jack and Karen wound up being the ones who stayed together, and in a way, became "Will and Grace". Only better singers.

I am gonna miss this show SO much. I can't believe it's over.

Yeah, the whole "guest star" thing on W&G didn't get old. Nope. No siree.

I didn't find it funny at all. What was with the whole thing with everyone aging except Karen?
Another example of a show going out long after it should have.
Ughh.

.
it's been a running gag throughout the series about Karen's real age.

They kinda ripped off the Dawson's Creek Finale by fast forwarding into the future but it worked well for both shows.

Maybe I'll have to watch it again. I normally don't watch it, but I had it on in the background, but wasn't paying full attention and it got confusing.

Karen being reminded to buy Kool-Aid when she saw Grace in the red fat suit I thought was pretty funny.

Karen is pretty pickled and well preserved through chemistry. :-)

i dont think dawson's creek pioneered the fast forward to the future finale. at minimum, star trek tng did it as well.

am i the only one who found the last scene to be ... abrupt?

A few funny lines, but otherwise I thought this was mediocre at best - much like the past two seasons. At least I have the early seasons on DVD to enjoy again and remind me why this was once my favorite TV show.

The only thing completely out of place was Beverly Leslie being blown off his balcony and leaving Jack his entire fortune. Other than that, it was enjoyable although I was a little disappointed that Will and Grace don't have a lifelong relationship after they make up, only reconnecting again after another 16 or so years.

The young guy who played college-age Ben looked remarkably like Will. When the two students were revealed to be the kids, I winced when the audience gasped with joy.

I was kinda half assed about the finale while watching it and towards the end with the whole College part of the story but I guess it was good overall. I loved Grace's dream at the start and the conversation between Jack and Karen in the tub.

I'm gonna miss Karen Walker. I'm a "late adopter" of the show but Karen was the reason I started watching and why I stayed with it.

true dat. I knew that joke, Ageless Karen, was coming as soon as I saw "old" Will and Grace.

Hated the "Grace's Dream" opening...awful. I thought the rest was alright, but for a series finale for a very funny show, this episode was severly lacking in laughs. I also don't buy that Will & Grace wouldn't have made up with each other in that big time span...they've been through too much together for their relationship to fall apart like that. Overall, I was extremely underwhelmed. The "good night gracie" retrospect though was fantastic.
