I bet the Black Friday deal will not be $20 this year. I bet $30 or maybe $40.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

My Peacock is up for renewal towards the end of the month. I noted on the calendar to cancel on the 25th. They just sent an email reminding me that renewal was approaching and the prices have increased.

This. I too have a reminder set to cancel before the 23rd.
It's our least watched streamer and that price increase for annual is insane.

^ Yeah I hardly used Peacock outside of the WWE PLE's and Twisted Metal... but the latest season just wrapped up.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I had a cashback offer through my American Express card where I am getting the ad-free version for 6 bucks for two months but their specials on the "limited" ads version does nothing for me since they took away the ability to pay a little extra to upgrade to ad free. I refuse to pay for any program that includes ads no matter how cheap. At this point, I will pay whatever to not watch ads.

It seems they never have any specials on the Premium Plus version that is ad free anymore unless you just get a special cash back through a credit card. I have this special for another month and then I will dump it. I need to burn through the second season of Twisted Metal and anything else I can't see elsewhere before I drop it again.

They suck too. I got a new TCL TV recently and just started using that TV for all the streaming apps. Come to find out, Peacock doesn't stream 4K or Atmos or even 5.1 thru all TCL Google TV apps. So, I have to watch Peacock Plus through their app on my Xbox. But of course, the sound is just slightly off. I have adjusted the milliseconds a bunch but can never seem to get it to sync up exactly correct. Fuck them.

I'm curious what you watch? I mean 20 bucks a year is a deal, I won't dispute that, but I wonder who finds it worth 109.99 to have it year round without WWE PLEs. The only thing I can see is if you just don't have a way to watch NBC or if you have to have NBA or Love Island content.

They do get all the Universal movies after PVOD.

Don't they also go to Prime like shortly thereafter?

Yes it goes there about 2-3 months after Peacock.

I suppose if you have no urgency to catch them, you may not care.

I mainly use it to watch Traitors and so my Mom can watch Days of Our Lives. I watch a movie every now and then. I need to watch the live action How To Train Your Dragon and new Jurassic World movie before my $19.99 deal expires.

I don't have cable, but I can watch NBC over-the-air. But Peacock also gets Syfy channel shows like Resident Alien (now concluded) and The Ark. That, plus the Universal movies, makes it worth it to me for the $20/yr deal.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Right, like I said before 20 bucks a year is set it and forget it territory, I'm more talking about the people they're trying to sell this to for full price (or near it). I guess we'll see what black friday deals are like.

I'm going to cancel. I mainly got it to watch Yellowstone (and even then I had to finish it on Comcast), and I found I haven't watched much else.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Just got an offer from Comcast/Xfinity for free Peacock with ads, which is the level I got last year for BF. So I canceled, rejected the $40 offer, and reupped with Comcast. I think it worked but if not, no big loss.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I was getting that free with my Comcast internet but then they took that away. Did the $20 deal and sort of gotten my money's worth from that, using the Kodi add-on I don't get any commercials and of course none of the other annoyances of their native app. Not keeping it if it goes full price next month but will watch for any deals. Want to see the Friday the 13th series coming soon.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Peacock is doing an alternate cast of Sunday Night Football on December 7th hosted by Boston Rob with a few others.

I don’t want to put this in the week 11 thread because it has nothing to do with the games and will just annoy some there.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

My Peacock subscription was going to renew tomorrow at $109.99 for a year.

I clicked cancel and did not get another offer like last time. So I guess that was a 1-time deal at $39.99 So I might have hosed myself on a potential deal.

So far no deals have crossed. I do have 2 credit card offers from AMEX. $20 cash back for spending $109.99. or $10.99 statement credit up to 2 times when you spend $10.99

I will probably re-sign up and get the $20 credit to bring my charge to $89 for the year. Not horrible, but definitely not as great as $19.99 that they have given out the last 2 years on BF if nothing special becomes available.

I know a lot of you guys think Peacock sucks and is not worth $100/year. Especially you don’t watch sports. But, they have exclusive NBA games and get the Universal movies after PVOD. And get the NBC Universal cable shows. The price increase for the annual rate was pretty significant, so I know value is highly subjective if you think it’s worth keeping or not.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

When my sub goes out I'll probably do the apple tv+ add on deal and see how long that lasts.

Oh, it ends today, my 19.99 for a year sub. I forgot they added another tier that's just tv without their originals. I'm already annoyed that they call their ad tier "premium" Also it seems like my spectrum tier includes the ad tier, with an upgrade to no ads for 6 bucks a month.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

So my sub renews on Friday so I had noted in my calendar to cancel tomorrow. Looks like that'll happen. But I might switch to monthly for a couple months because of football season.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Seems like the Black Friday price will be 19.99 again, so might be worth it to hold off until then.

Mine ends today too. I hope I can get in on the 19.99 deal again.

If that happens I'm in.

Now I need to find the cheapest way to add Hulu with a current D+

The only Hulu and Disney+ deals that I'm seeing is a $4.99 a month Hulu/Disney+ with ads bundle for a year.
