Also, are you sure it's an Android TV app? Not all Sony Bravia TVs are Android TV, some have their own "Smart TV" apps:

HBO Max is likely not prioritizing the "smart TV" apps, and instead focused on getting the major platforms updated in time: iOS, Android, Roku, Amazon Fire, Xbox, PS4/5, etc. A particular TV manufacturer's Smart TV app will be low on the list.

Even if it is Android TV, it's possible there's some compatibility issue between the app and your TV. HBO Max isn't going to have tested the app on every Android TV devices.

All of my TVs are different brands of the Roku integrated TVs. A 65" Hisense, a 43" Hisense, a 42" Onn Brand, and a 26" Onn brand and it shows up on all of them. It gave me an HDR badge as Wonder Woman started playing and once the badge went away it turned a bit dark. So I hit the star button on the remote (all 4 TVs use the standard Roku remote as the TV remote) and it's like the third option down the left side menu that pops up.

They are no name brands sold from Walmart but the picture on them is really good for the money. Not sure which version of Roku they actually use tho.

ok. i saw it is the current version and in the description of tv says Android tv. i didn't see any options to change any settings in the movie itself or options in the HBO Max home screen. it's not a big deal now, but if every movie that will be released on HM in 2021 is going to be like this, i will have a problem. as i said i used Xbox and it was fine, but i do like the tv app interface the best. it's not a big deal, i guess. we'll see. thanks for all help from everyone.

Looks like Disney+ pummeled HBO Max in terms of downloads over the Christmas holiday. 2.3 million vs 544k downloads respectively.

It's not a fair comparison. The Disney+ numbers are global installs. They have 87M subscribers worldwide. The HBO Max service is just available in the USA and they only have 12M subscribers.

I think it’s comparable. And even after HBO Max finally got their app available on Roku, there was no substantial increase, even with WW84.

Those numbers are for mobile apps though so Roku app downloads wouldn't be counted. Most of the people getting HBO Max probably wanted to watch WW84 on their TV and not on a cell phone or tablet.

Is WW84 the only thing available in 4k?

Correct Wonder Wonder 84 is the 1st 4K title.

It's going to be awhile before you'll being seeing a lot of titles in 4K. HBO doesn't even air content on TV in 4K.

In case you never paid any attention to it, Warrior is now on HBO Max. It's produced by Bruce Lee's daughter Shannon and is based on his writings. It's a period martial arts show. 2 seasons were made. It's a badass action series.

I noticed the original Batman movies with Keaton, Kilmer and Clooney are currently in the rotation at Showtime. I know some of you complain why they can't keep their content for perpetuity. I'm sure they will be back sometime in the Spring.

But, anyone who likes those movies probably has them on BD or digital anyways.

So this film has a long, storied history. Originally filmed in 2005, it wasn't released until 2011 as the director struggled to cut the film down from 3 hours to the contractually obligated 150 minute maximum running time. The ~3 hour cut was released on DVD in 2012:

On HBO Max, both cuts are available. The 150 minute cut is the "main feature" and the extended cut is an "extra" on the film. The running time on the extended cut is listed as 3 hours, 7 minutes, which lines up with the DVD version. I'm not sure why that tweet says it's ~4 hours, it's not.

I might have the BD of this. Never did get around to watching it. It was a gift.

It was recently posted on HBO Max, however the episodes are all out of order. Someone noticed it online and I checked and indeed lots of the episodes are out of order.

It's in broadcast order, instead of production order like on the discs. There's actually some debate about what order is best, although the broadcast order has the notable oddity of showing The Cat and the Claw Part I first, and then not showing The Cat and the Claw Part II until 7 episodes later.

The production order doesn't necessarily make full sense though either, since its second episode is "Christmas with the Joker," which instead of broadcasting in September, when the show premiered, broadcast in November and December, you know, close to Christmas. Sometimes episodes are produced out of order if they think a particular episode may take longer to produce or something.

Aside from that wrong step out of the gate of splitting up a two-parter, I don't think the broadcast order is necessarily "out of order." The show is more anthology-like, and aside from the two-parters, there's not a strict continuity or serialization from one episode to the next. So it's not necessarily the end of the world watching it in broadcast order. After all, that's the order many fans, like myself, originally watched and enjoyed the series in.

For BTAS, was that the order that it was in on DC Universe (and the dozen of us who had that service just didn't notice)? Otherwise I have no idea why they'd change it to broadcast order, you'd think that would take more effort than just putting it in the same order they put on the Blu rays.

They also put up a ton of content Dec 31 (JustWatch says 266 new titles) including a lot of DC content. A lot of the Direct to blu ray animation titles and the excellent Green Lantern animated series, for instance. No Justice League, Unlimited, STAS or Legion, though.

That is what they said, just no promises (that I saw) that other content would be in 4k. For instance, some of the DC Universe stuff was in 4k (apparently very bad 4k but 4k nonetheless), and none of that ported over.
