Disney+ streaming service

Re: Disney+ streaming service
I wonder if when the 3 year offer comes to end, they’ll send a targeted offer to us to all with another pay up front discount for X amount of years.

The Star tile is indeed for international viewers for those who don't have Hulu.

Dex, DJariya, that is also my hope. It looks like my 3 year discount deal ends on November 10, 2021 but if I am offered another long-term offer that brings my cost per month to around $1 less per month than normal (so about $7 per month with the deal vs $8) I would pull the trigger. One of the few streaming services I would pay for unlike Peacock and HBO Max which I get for "free" as an Xfinity customer. I also get Hulu for free via Sprint (now T-Mobile), another streamer I went a long period of time without when it was not offered as a perk by my mobile phone carrier.

Ok, apparently it will be three more dollars per month, at least in Canada, due to the addition of Star. But that takes effect at the end of Feb. and our plan will auto renew on January 1st at the current yearly price, according to the email I received a few weeks ago, so I think I dodged a bullet for a year.

I already paid for the year in December so I'm assuming the price increase wont affect me. I paid $70 plus there is a $12.50 cash back on Rakuten brought my monthly down to like $4.79 a month.

Decker, for some reason over the weekend it popped into my head that I goofed my D+ renewal date, as it should expire for me in 2022. It is nice not to have to worry or think about a price increase for the next 2 years. Of course, by the time most of us who signed up for 3 years are ready to re-up I will not be shocked if there is yet another price increase between now and Nov. 2022. For month to month folks it goes up to $8 a month soon enough, but I will not be shocked if it is $9 per month when it comes time for me to renew. As others have said, if they offer 1/2/3 year discount deals that knocks a buck off per month it will be worth it. Especially considering how much content (especially Marvel/Star Wars Universe) will be available late 2021/2022.

Re: Disney+ streaming service
It's been a Christmas tradition for me for many years to watch Mickey's Christmas Carol, Santa's Workshop and Twas the Night Before Christmas on the 24th. Today I watched the first on Disney+ and saw that they added Santa's Workshop but not Twas the Night Before Christmas, which is a sequel Workshop. Then, I noticed that Santa's Workshop has been cut. Two scenes that had some clearly racist stereotypes have been removed from the short. The first one is Santa approving the dolls, in which the last one that comes in the slide, is a black doll with a very blackface look and yells "MAMA" before moving on. Scene starts at 3:36 on the video
The second scene that was removed is during the parade of toys and a dancing Jew toy walks by. The scene happens at 5:29 on the video above
I know some of this stuff is not acceptable today, but, why can't Disney put this on with a disclaimer? Also, is there a site that lists all the programming on Disney+ that has been cut or censored for whatever reasons?

Now that I have a subscription, is there any place that lists what content will be leaving Disney+ soon, that I can prioritize watching? (I can only find sites that lists what's being added) .

Good question. There's plenty of info about content leaving Netflix but not D+.

Re: Disney+ streaming service
Unlike other services, I don't think much leaves the service, they generally put stuff on and keep it (since they own it) That may just be my perception though.

Re: Disney+ streaming service
Oh, that's nice. But how will I choose what to prioritize now?

(I would have thought, even if they own everything, they might rotate things to keep people interested in maintaining their subscriptions, the way Warner Archive Digital used to, although I guess with a library that big, maybe they don't have to?)

I think the only time a movie or show leaves the service is when they have to fulfill the contractual obligations that they signed previously.

If an episode of Raven’s Home, for example, aired yesterday, it would be in that app, not Disney+... for now anyway.
