Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

Anyone who signed up for the D23 3-year plan try "switching to Disney bundle" to get Hulu and ESPN? I don't really care about ESPN and already have Hulu but not sure if I would still get a savings.
In the D+ Account Settings I have a hyperlink to "switch to Bundle" but haven't clicked yet.

Phineas and Ferb episodes are all out of order. Lame.

I’ve never seen this show, but is it heavily serialized? If not, does original episode order matter? Thought Disney cartoons were pretty much standalone episodic.

Not heavily serialized, but there's still no excuse for having the 23rd episode listed as Season 1, Episode 1.
That's a fuck up on their part. No need to defend it.

There's some order to the episodes. Some of the later episodes reference stuff that happened in previous one. It bugs me to that they are out of order because it makes it harder to find my favorite episodes.

Don't know if this has been discussed before, but is there any reason why many of the Disney Afternoon stuff is missing the pilot episodes? Wanted to watch the amazing Ducktales pilot and it was nowhere to be found.

The reboot of Duck Tales, or the original? I noticed the original is separated from the new one.

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

I don't know if the Disney + Roku app is buggy, but according to the episode description part, I'm still only getting HD 5.1

What's weird is my Apple TV 4K is getting 4K UHD HDR 10 and my Nvidia shield is getting 4K Ultra HD.

and it's still missing some of the bonus content that the Apple TV version has.

Someone on Twitter was saying that you need to set your Roku to 4K HDR 10 60 fps. But, according to the Auto detect, I can only get 30 fps.

I don't know. Hopefully an update to the app comes soon.

Still haven’t been able to get on since early Sat morning. Previously it worked fine. I was on the phone with them multiple times and they keep telling me they are aware or error code 83 but I’m losing patience. I can see a problem for a couple of hours or so but going on day 3 tells me there is deep problem. You would except a company with all the money in the world to run things more smoothly.

Yeah, I thought maybe the pilot movie (ie: the first five episodes) was listed separately or something but no dice. They also skip like two episodes and even note that, so I don't know what's going on with that and the out of order episodes on a lot of cartoons.

It's likely your HDMI cable is holding you back from getting 60 fps. You need a 18 Gbps HDMI cable in order to get 4K60fps. 4K30fps will work on older HDMI cables.

I just got an email from Disney acknowledging that I have a free year subscription from Verizon and that my current subscription will pause and then pick up after the Verizon sub ends and I don’t need to do anything additional. Seems
like they’re making this process as painless as possible.

I received the same email. I checked my account and it still shows expiring 11/2022. I hope that changes to accurate 11/2023.

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

Free trial ends tonight, so I checked it one last time and go this- COMPLETELY inexcusable, this movie has stuff going on all the way to the end (outtakes) but their shitty interface butts in 30 seconds before the first credit even appears! And no, I shouldn't have to pick up my remote to bring it back. Those who are so impatient that they'd stop watching at this point should have to do this themselves, as they're likely clutching them all the way through if they aren't playing on their phones. You can turn off the menu animation if that annoys you, but you're forced to have your movie end like this:

If you're going to be this nit picky and tear streaming apart like this, then it's obviously not meant for you. Shut off your Roku and just go back to your physical media if you hate this so much.

I know it's a matter of opinion, but this is petty nit picking. 1st world problems.

There's a physical media enthusiast who I greatly respect Robert Meyer Burnett who continues to collect BDs, 4Ks and such, but he loves Disney + and loves the format, especially with them including BD bonus features. He's never made any complaints about what you're describing.

So nit picking about a squeeze back on the end credits is silly and petty. Just click back if you really really want to see it.

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

So going back to my issue about not getting 4K streams on my Roku app. Still not happening. Still listed at HD 5.1

I even switched my display to simply 4K at 60 fps and that didn't work. So I don't think it's the cable. I tried 2 4K 60 ghz cables and a new one I bought at Target today and still get the same result.

But, it does look like my TV cannot play 4K HDR at 60 fps. But, I don't think that should be an issue because my Apple TV 4K is playing Disney + content in 4K.

So the app I think is the issue.

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

Why is it silly and petty? Did you see when it kicked in? What reason is there for that? Wouldn't not getting 4K be a first world problem too? And would most people even notice?

Seriously, this is simply unacceptable. You don't have to agree with that, but you seem to take pleasure in tearing me apart- of course you think TV is perfectly watchable also.

Yes I know who Robert Meyer Burnett is- he's so happy with Disney Plus that he thinks he should get rid of all his Marvel Blu-Rays.

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

It's end credits. Probably 9 out of 10 don't care. Sure some have extended scenes and such, but just click to see them.

and I just want to have the option available for 4K because I use Roku the most even though I have an Apple TV already that supports 4K. I'm not calling it ridiculous and unacceptable and cancelling my subscription. I can enjoy the shows and movies just fine in regular HD.

Resume and Restart will be added in the next update.

I could have sworn this was on the app Day 1 and then it disappeared for some reason.
