Re: Shudder - AMC's streaming service for Horror fans
Looks like Shudder is giving everyone a Free 30-Day Extension for the Joe Bob snafu. I just got an email that says:
To thank you for your incredible fandom and keeping the Drive-In alive, we’ve credited your account with an extra FREE 30 DAYS*, make no bones about it.
That means you can watch all of THE LAST DRIVE-IN over, and over, and over, and over again.
*The 30 days have automatically been credited to your account. This means your next billing period will be moved 30 days in the future, whether you are on a monthly or annual plan.

So I'm a little late to the party, but I caught some of Joe Bob Briggs marathon late last night on demand.
I watched about 1/2 of Tourist Trap before I got tired, but I really liked seeing him again. I'm old enough to remember his previous show on TMC when he would show horror movies and cheesy softcore porn. I'll try to finish it later today.
It was also awesome that the movie and his segments were blurry and in SD.
Glad I missed the original live broadcast as I see it was filled with technical problems.
and how the hell is Tourist Trap a PG rated horror movie? Total missed opportunity by the director and production company with the 70's babes that were in it.
They really should make Joe Bob's show a permanent weekly thing. I mean what else is he doing? I see they plan to bring it back again later this year. I assume Halloween would make the most sense from a timetable standpoint.

I thought you were a regular subscriber? Didn't realize you bailed and re-signed up again for this marathon.
I have a 1 year subscription that only cost me like $25 that they offered me.

I've been a longtime Crunchyroll subscriber. And an occassional FUNimation subscriber. So it just made sense to go with VRV and get everything for $10/month.
I took advantage of the Free Trial so that I could use the Shudder app to watch the Joe Bob livestream. Although if the trial didn't work, I would have paid $5 for a month to get access.

^^ Ahh, I forgot about VRV. Yeah that saved you a few bucks and gave you access to other channels.

Shudder needs to stockpile crab bag horror/sci-fi movies(especially from the SyFy Channel) so Joe Bob and properly review them.

40% off yearly subscription with code BITE40 expires tomorrow. Makes it $27.88 instead of $50 for the year.
The awesome folks in customer service just did me a solid. My subscription doesn’t expire for a few months, but they set my next renewal to be the $27.88 amount.

They maybe have an advantage due to their limited scope, but I think they’re the best curators in the business. Every title that I’ve ever taken a blind chance on has been at least decent. They don’t stream tons of pure dreck just to punch up their viewing options like Netflix or Amazon.
I’m sure there are free trial options, either through Shudder itself or thru VRV or Amazon, but maybe use a different email address for that and then this deal if you do it. Although their customer service would likely help you out too.

Re: Shudder - AMC's streaming service for Horror fans
Thanks for the heads up on this. Contacted customer service, asked if I could receive the discounted price when my trial ends in October and within 15 minutes was told yes, $27.88 total for a subscription until October 2019. Don't really use Shudder that much but have watched a couple of films here and there, and with the upcoming Joe Bob holiday specials, price seemed right to me.

...and asked them if I could get the deal. Specifically asked about the 40% off "BITE40" discount offering. Received a positive reply in about 15 minutes. Worth emailing and asking? Worked for me but that was earlier today.

If BITE40 doesn't work ANNUAL30 will get you 30% and was still working today. I contacted CS and they said the only way to apply a coupon to my account was to cancel it and then sign up with a new email address. Seems like a pretty backwards way of doing things.

According to Cord Cutting News,Amazon has decided to drop Shudder from their channels.
That's ok for me-I got it through their website.
One problem I do have watching on Roku is that the movie icons are way too small.
