Anyone watch Smallville on Hulu? Did it look rough in earlier seasons? And is there anyway to see what resolution? I get nothing when I pause and seems only option...

Huh. So... That wraps it all up, then, does it? Close thread?

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
There were articles (which are now gone from net) as to why the producers etc chose not to release seasons 1-4 on Blu-ray or HD-DVD as they believed people would think the sets had issues since the quality would not have been 1080p.
Season 5 was released on HD-DVD and DVD, Season 6 was released on HD-DVD, Blu-ray, and DVD while Seasons 7-10 were released on Blu-ray and DVD. The complete series was only ever released on DVD.

The picture quality of early seasons of Smallville are sub par no matter the streaming service. They were initially filmed less than 1080 and many special effects were done in 480. We are watching on VUDU and picture quality does begin to improve later in season 1 and seems almost 720 and continues at least till middle of season 2 ( that's where we are now). The intro does not get better by that point yet.

I know the interest level in this forum is probably small, but I just finished watching the 1st season of Padma Lakshmi's new food and travel show Taste the Nation on Hulu. It was really good. I finished all 10 episodes in 2 days. It basically explores the food cultures in various states across the country. It's very well written and produced. Padma announced on social media recently it was picked up for a 2nd season. How they will film during a pandemic, who knows?
It's a very worthy watch if you like food and travel content.

Yeah, I watched this the first weekend it came out. That first episode in El Paso was like waking through my childhood. She did a great job with this show, from production to balancing the food and cultural aspects and people associated with it. It’s a great fast paced show.

I watch Hulu on my Roku. I have Hulu with Live TV.
If I were to travel out of state and take my Roku, can I use Hulu in that alternate location?
I recall one time trying to log in to a smart TV in another location and it didn't let me, but I was able to watch on my Kindle.
If not, I may need to downgrade my plan away from Live TV before the next renewal, because I also think downgrades now occur at next renewal, not instantly?

Example - "Home - Away (1) - Home (2)" ---- you used 2 out of 4 changes

Just noticed that Verizon is now giving the monthly subscription to Disney+, HULU (commercial plan), and ESPN+ to some Unlimited plans. They are offering a 6 month Disney+ for free on other Unlimited plans.
I plan to look into this more. Thing is we prepaid for the 3 year D+ which is yet to kick in as we have the 1 year free from Verizon. On top of that we buy HULU gift cards at a discount, as well as get them from Microsoft Rewards for points, and prepay. We are good till 4/21 as of now.
Unfortunately we'd rather offset our Verizon costs with the new benefit, if applicable to our account.

Cool, thanks for the details on the network shift/home location thing.
Yeah now there are so many deals for D+ and Hulu etc, the 3 year prepaid might not have been the best deal (for us, it was great for Disney.)

If I look at the same title, it now shows just the 5.1 icon.

Waiting a while to see if 4K accessible content returned to our TV. It has not. So I reached out to customer support (via chat).
The first help agent seemed to understand the issue better but there course of action to "fix" it was to remove all devices from my account. Nope didn't fix anything. In fact it logged me out of the chat session also
Reached out a second time. It was more difficult to explain the issue. This help agent basically said out TV will not have 4K Hulu as it is non compatible. I explained if it is non compatible then by that very definition it never should have been working prior to the app update. I explained that I never would have reached out if it hadn't worked only to stop working after the app update. I also asked if they could roll back that app for me. Their answer is they cannot provide 4K to a non compatible device.
In the bigger picture (no pun intended), there are more important things than the picture quality on their limited content. So I guess we hold watching anything hat would be 4K on Hulu till such time we can watch it in 4K. There is enough other HD content to watch in the meantime.
During the time we used a Roku Ultra 2020 (there are issues which I shared in the Roku thread), HULU did not present anything as 4K. This makes me wonder if they pulled all 4K content at the time we thought we only lost it on our LG TV.

Best Buy current sale - purchase $100 Hulu (or Netflix) digital gift card, get a $10 Best Buy digital gift card free.
Not sure when sale expires, but saw on Slickdeals. I got the Hulu gift card, which I will use quickly due to Hulu Live pricing.
