Both aren't returning.

Hulu Live buffering and crashing is a COMMON problem. Very frustrating. Doesn’t matter your internet speed. Doesn’t matter wifi or wired.

https://community.hulu.com/s/questio...keeps-crashing

The trick is to start a DVR recording of what you’re watching. And then watch your show from the DVR recording, not the “Live” section. So basically you’re a couple minutes behind from being live. Not the ideal choice for live sports, but I’ve found this solution to work for me.

Just watched The Valet. A little cheesy but it had some heart. I’d recommend.

And it’s in 4k! Still no HDR however.

Hulu in general? Some content is 4k/HDR (Dolby Vision and HDR10+) it just depends on the content (some is just 4k) and the platform you’re watching on.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

I picked up a Shield and the Hulu app now is asking me if I want to exit every time I try to back out to use something else. Is there a way to turn that off (I checked the app settings but didn’t see anything)? That never happened using my old Apple TV.

Yeah, this popped up on the main page on Hulu. I dunno, never seemed all that interesting, but I may try it now that it’s there.

It's really good, but it's not an easy watch. A lot of the dialogue is in Russian and it deals a lot with 1980s politics and espionage. You have to be fully attentive to enjoy it.

It's not for everyone.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

When did Hulu change to a little mini-logo in the bottom right of all original content? It's not annoying, but I just noticed it for the first time this week. It's so small, you can barely see it, and I have a 77" TV.

The Americans is FANTASTIC. I watched it for the first time last year. It deserves mentioning up there with some of TV's all-time greatest dramas. You won't be disappointed.

I noticed it when watching this week's Murders in the Building. Barely noticeable on our 55. Very tiny.

Are you talking about during the show?
I don’t have any logos on during the show.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

They've been overlaying network logos onscreen ever since they started- they aren't on the actual video, the program puts them there. Back when Hulu Desktop was around, there was an easy trick to make them disappear. They were huge on the TV apps when they started but a couple years ago made them a lot smaller, which likely only serves to annoy the people who notice them.

I use Kodi though which doesn't put them onscreen nor those annoying ratings indicators. I wouldn't be subscribing otherwise. It even lets me pay the cheaper rate and not have any commercials play.

While a little noticeable, it's not distracting. It's not on the newest episode of The Orville, currently watching.

And soon Orville will not be a HULU exclusive as it either moves or will also be available on Disney+. Not sure if that has any influence.

Prey is now available. I really enjoyed it. It's 4K. And there's only 90 seconds of commercials before the movie.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Ugh. I hate services having ad tiers because then shows have to have commercial breaks put in for those users. Super noticeable. Will all Marvel shows going forward have to be edited this way?

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

I might have to bundle Hulu and Disney + now. I pay $12.99 per month and now it's going up to $14.99. Getting kind of expensive now. I have ESPN Plus, but honestly I rarely use it. Just don't have the time and it might be a good thing to cut back on a streaming expense.

Can't they just do it in the transition between scenes? Most of the shows seem to have natural breaks where you could put a commercial (as opposed to something like watching a WWE event on Peacock)

Also, someone mentioned before that Hulu doesn't have commercial breaks for kids programs, but I suspect that won't carry over to Disney Plus...

EDIT: "Disney(DIS) is also introducing two new bundle plans: One is Disney+ and Hulu with ads for $9.99; the other is all three services with ads for $12.99.

The bundles are the confusing part for me. Currently, just have Hulu (ad free) for $12.99. Do not have D+ and no interest in ESPN+.

Agree with you DJariya, getting a bit pricey. Love Hulu w/o ads but if it's going to save us $, will consider including ads. Afterall, P+ and Tubi aren't obnoxious with ad breaks. Both tolerable.
