Re: The Official WWE Network Thread
When are they going to have some old NWA or Georgia Championship Wrestling TV? I'd like to see some old Buzz Sawyer or Tommy Rich footage.
Also does WWE own the Smokey Mountain library?

Don't they have to convert everything to HD before showing it on their Network? They have been very slow lately adding anything new to the Vault(except for SNME).
Is there a list somewhere of pro wrestling footage that the WWE doesn't own?
YouTube has a lot of the old wrestling shows.

All their old footage was shot on video, it can't really be converted to HD.

Tell that too the NFL Network who have been showing old Super Bowl games that were shot on video tape and they are in HD or why would they be showing the games with all the sides boxed in?

I don't know what NFL Network is doing, but you can't add definition that isn't there in the original image.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, pretty sure that NFL films shoots important games on film. You could get an HD image from that source.

I'm sure they aren't going to be showing a game like that if it wasn't HD.
Every game since around 1963 has been filmed by NFL Films. Not sure about the AFL . I miss the days of the NFL Game of the Week which was all on film.

If it's video from the original broadcast, it's literally impossible for it to be HD. If it's converted from NFL films, then it could be.

It was the original NBC broadcast from 1979. I've also got NFL Network HD ,but really haven't watched it yet. I will try to see if one of those games are coming up in the near future.

I think the only stuff they have that is in great condition NWA-wise pre-WCW Crockett are the Mid-Atlantic and Florida territories. Anytime they show Georgia footage, it's clearly 3rd-4th generation VHS dubs they got from someone else.

Re: The Official WWE Network Thread
I don't really like how they seem to be handling renewals. It seems there isn't an option to just sign up for another 6 months. I have to change my billing preferences to automatic renewal, leave it like that through the termination date (August 27), and remember to change my preferences back after that.
I know it's not that hard. But it seems like an unneeded extra step, designed to get people to switch to auto-renewal hoping they'll forget about it and get later charged when they don't want to.

Re: The Official WWE Network Thread
Posted in the main wrestling thread but I'll add this here:
"Nearly 700,000 subscribers."
http://variety.com/2014/biz/news/wwe...rs-1201272606/
With all the hotshotting, they've added 30,000 subscribers since wrestlemania. Article also states they are about to do the international roll out, with countries like Canada, Mexico, and Australia, but no uk. Interesting to see how many they get there.
Also interesting to see how many drop the network next month.
And you can now sign up a la carte for $20 per month.
I'm definitely sticking with it for another 6 months, but I'll leave the next decision up to how I feel their direction is going at that time.

Will you still be able to be charged 9.99 monthly (for another 6 months) or will you have to pay all the money up front?

Re: The Official WWE Network Thread
I've enjoyed my first six months so they definitely have earned a renewal from me. I've watched the network much more than I thought I would. My only wish is for the Roku channel to get an upgrade to match the PS3 version like Netflix and Hulu recently did.

Re: The Official WWE Network Thread
I just got an email from WWE stating that they are adding advertisements to the network.
So no interrupting of shows for commercials or anything. As someone who has been a Hulu+ subscriber for years, it doesn't bother me...but I know a lot of people don't like the idea of there being ads in a service they are paying for.
Dear WWE Network subscriber,
Today WWE Network will begin to run limited video advertisements.
Here's what you can expect:

Re: The Official WWE Network Thread
I watched the ECW episode of the Monday Night Wars, which was great, and didn't see any commercials. I don't blame WWE for including commercials but I think it's too soon of a move to do.they should of waited until Wreseltlemania 31 to really push commercials.
