What drives me nuts is the Roku menu. They list everything in a straight line. How am I supposed to find anything on My Stuff? Try browsing through 3000+ random titles in a straight line. You can't even sort them by A-Z, Year, or Genre.
Heck, even on Amazon's own firestick everything listed in a straight line, but they don't go endlessly, eventually it just runs out, even if there are more titles. For instance, you can go to "animation" and only a fraction of titles are listed. |

80's late night show "FRIDAYS" is on Prime. I used to watch it as a kid and enjoyed it. You get to see early Larry David. If nothing else the musical guests were great.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080219/ This....was not very good. Did like seeing Devo. Agreed, the Prime Video app is one of the worst streaming apps, whether on Roku, Xbox, or LGTV. At least now they have a 'free for me' callout. |

Yeah, like i said...the musical guests were great.

We caught an episode of that because my wife said the same thing, "I used to watch this". I wanted to catch Mark Blankfield because I remembered him from Jekyll and Hyde Together Again. (I know he was in other stuff, but that's what I remember him from.)

Season 1 has 4 out of 12 episodes. Season 2 has 7 out of 25 episodes. Season 3 has 4 out of 21 episodes. I wonder if music rights are the reason. Then again, this is with Prime Canada. Are there more episodes in the U.S. ? |

Enjoy it while you can. They used to have The Abyss and it looked great. I thought they might finally release it on Blu or UHD. But it's no longer available and a disc never materialized. But it was great seeing it in HD, finally.
Those two seem to rotate on the streaming sites. Last year they were on HBO before it was HBO MAX. The Abyss was the TC and not the DC, though. |
Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
I watch Amazon Prime on a Roku, so I don't know if this is an Amazon problem or a Roku issue. When I fast-forward a video, there's about a 50% chance it will show the spinning wheel for about 20 seconds, shows me a generic "Something went wrong" window and then bails to the Roku main screen.

How much does Prime go up?
At least they can do their own ads sales which, hopefully prevents any price increases. |
