FYI: A couple of Prime Channels are currently offering a 30-day trial. AMC+ and CBS All-Access (although you get get a 30-day trial from CBS directly, just check the CBS access thread for a code).

Looks like the Prime Cheez-it promo is over (maybe that's why they sent out random cheeze-it rewards, since they had some left over?)

Also, it looks like isn't a sampler of shows from different channels this month (or at least, I can't find any). I hope it doesn't mean the end of it.

Also, the BET channel is currently available for 99 cents for one month.

Good, I’m glad it’s over, I’ve gained about 5 lbs from all the Cheez-its, Pringles, Pop-tarts and Rice Krispy Treats that I got from these promotions! 😉

So it looks like Amazon has added a Watch Party feature. Someone with a prime membership can start an eligible movie or TV show (and control pausing/playing) and invite up to 100 other people, provided they have Prime too. It looks to me like most or all of Prime eligible movies and tv shows are eligibe, but IMDB TV and movies you own are not. Also, I think movies you own that are also prime-eligible are not available, which I have to assume is a glitch and not intended.

It looks like the Watch Party feature now allows you to use it on content you own or rent (so long as everyone in the party owns or has rented it), which fixes the issue I had above. Looks like maybe some IMDB TV content is eligible too.

Not sure if you can join a watch party if you own a movie but are not a prime member. Hopefully it does allow that, since the Watch Party feature on Amazon is so much better than the one on Movies Anywhere.

And looks like there's now a special for the Showtime channel (99 cents for one month). Ends on the 13th.

It looks like it's Acorn TV channel's turn to be 99 cents for the first month. Good if you like British mysteries/dramas/comedies and don't have Britbox.

It looks like Amazon has seasons of Primeval for $3-5 each.

The other day it was AMC+, -today it's Starz, -first month 99 cents. My only problem is that most of their 2:35 OAR movies are shown "cropped", -even HBO isn't doing that anymore.

They all show as "currently unavailable to watch in your location" for me.

There's two listings for each season, one of which is unavailable.

This link is for the seasons you can buy (at least in the US):

Noticed that Bullitt and The Paleface have dropped to $4.99 on Amazon.

Edit: looks like Paleface is also that price on Fandangonow.

Amazon's got Creed and Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey available for 99 cents each. Neither are MA-eligible.

True Lies and The Abyss are currently on Prime Video.

The Abyss is 16:9 now. Previously someone said it was posted in 4:3.

Both of them leave on January 1st, so if you want to see them you better hurry.

The Abyss looks and sounds great. Hopefully when it is finally released for purchase (disc and/or streaming) they include all cuts of the film.

They missed out on not releasing it on blu. They need to put out a nice collector's set on 4K and it'll get snapped up. It would look grand with HDR.

The theatrical and extended cut of The Abyss both recently aired on HBO a few months ago. It would not surprise me if they make the rotation again in 2021.

If anyone wants a discounted (5.99 month) Prime membership and you have an ebt card or medicare here you go.

You will be switched to monthly and be refunded if you already had yearly payment.

Felt the need to do a mini-rant about how god awful the UI continues to be. Boggles my mind that it has never been improved over all these years.

What set me off was looking around for some 4k content to stream, as I recently got a 4k set.

All the amazon originals are for the most part 4k, but there are some catalog movies available as well.....if you can find them.

For example, the Prestige was added today. If you do a search there are two versions, HD and UHD. You really have to search by individual title to see if another version exists, and it is very random...Live Free or Die Hard, 2nd Underworld Movie, Angels and Demons..I have never seen them appear on the main page, only by searching.

Im sure they get away with it because most people see it as a bonus to prime shipping, but man it is horrible.

It doesn't make any sense to me because you'd think they continually add stuff to make the service more impressive. So why hide everything, or make things hard to find?

I follow JustWatch almost daily because that's the easiest way to find out what's added to Prime, and there is a ton of stuff that they add (a ton of garbage too) but it's all for naught if nobody knows about it.

What drives me nuts is the Roku menu. They list everything in a straight line. How am I supposed to find anything on My Stuff? Try browsing through 3000+ random titles in a straight line. You can't even sort them by A-Z, Year, or Genre.
