Some really good titles there. The Birdcage and When Harry Met Sally have both been on my wishlist for ages, so I jumped on those two.

It's $1 credit day if you watch movies from the classic collection: https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...6803?offset=80 It appears the $2 last chance to watch credit is going away.

I laughed at the Trading Places gif, but considering I was pleased by the $7.99 mix and match instead of my usual $5 purchases, I guess it’s worth playing Detour on my phone for 68 minutes. Though I didn’t see the offer in my email so maybe I wasn’t eligible.

i got some of the bundles: Carrie, Jeepers Creepers, Cutting Edge, Thomas Crown, Robocop, Ben Hur/Greatest Story.

It’s been a while, but my impression was that the original Species was a horror/sci-fi/T&A guilty pleasure, while the sequels were horror/sci-fi/T&A DTV garbage. I saw at least two of them. Too bad there’s no four-pack to stick in the bundle sale.

Just picked up Lois & Clark complete series for $50. SD but the seasons usually run $30-$40 each.

There are reports that Vudu is removing Instawatch redemptions that don't match the original purchase email. In other words, if you bought an Instawatch code from someone else, that movie might get removed.

Here's a giant Reddit thread about the removals:

Wait, people were selling Instawatch codes? I was redeeming the Instawatch code, so I could, you know, watch instantly, and selling off the code that comes in the case.

Fuck. I have lost some. Harriet for sure. Birds of Prey! The Way Back

Yep I lost five or so, it looks like.
Doctor Sleep, Birds of Prey, Bloodshot, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Sonic. Maybe more. I think I only bought like ten. Still, though.
Maybe that's why the sites were pushing clearance sales on Instawatch.
The place I got them no longer has a category for IW.
$%!^!

I guess the sale to Fandango is official. At the bottom of the Vudu site, the new Terms & Policies and Privacy Policy go to Fandango. And the copyright has been updated to "2020 Fandango"

Walmart Gift Cards can no longer be used at Vudu.

They still accept Vudu Gift Cards.

Buying IW codes was way risky. Hell if you returned a movie you bought, they would pull the code.

I kind of figured these issues would arise once Walmart divested itself completely of VUDU. Digital platforms are still a crapshoot at best when it comes to long-term movie collecting.

So how long before InstaWatch is completely ended by Fandango?

You can now reorder your Lists on Vudu. Just drag and drop them.

Fortunately Digital World HD has a My Account page that shows at least most of my purchases there. I reached out to them and they sent an email reply kind of washing their hands of responsibility as it was a working code at the time. They will refund half the purchase price which is something I guess. Wish I had watched Emma and The Way Back before they got pulled though.

We gave away some codes that came via receipts in store as we already had the movies (bonus of another movie when buying a particular movie). Not sure how traceable that is to identify who the code was intended. Maybe they will review that via zip code. Even then if someone bought something while on vacation, then redeemed at home.

Will Vudu still be attached to your online Walmart Account?

Got my $1 credit!

I’ll probably get some of the classic musicals on sale. I assume Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is more expensive than the others because it’s more popular, but at least $7.99 is better than the $9.99 it was recently. Unfortunately my Warner Archive BD isn’t eligible for D2D. Same with Finian’s Rainbow, which is certainly not a great movie but has some moments.

Yup. Lost the only IW I didn’t get on own. Birds of Prey. Sucks balls, but only the 1, so oh well.

Hmm, that’s weird. I used the link you posted, and it was a very limited list of maybe a dozen obscure films. I “watched“ Detour from 1945 (released by something called TriCoast Entertainment), and the rest looked all about the same caliber. I don’t remember seeing Four Weddings on the list.

I thought it was on there, I streamed it on my roku and just searched for it. I might have also gotten it confused with Much Ado About Nothing and chose poorly.
