Re: The Roku Thread
Is the only "menu" for Comet the regular options menu? When I click * I only get the regular options menu.

Roku is in talks to acquire Quibi's content library.

Thanks for the suggestions! I finally logged into the TCM channel. I have a feeling I'm going to use that one a lot. It looks like things rotate pretty regularly, too. I really like how well this complements your existing cable or satellite service.

Re: The Roku Thread
I like how well it replaced my previous satellite service. Now that HBO Max is on Roku, my wife is using the Roku more than the built-in smart TV OS. Which is good, because Roku is awesome and the remote is so much easier; but it's bad because then the remote is on her side of the bed. I don't watch much in bed and if/when I do I'll either get the remote or use my phone.
When I first got the Roku I was surprised as to how many apps there were for channels that I had had on satellite.
I am really surprised my library system doesn't offer Kanopy.
It's obviously exceedingly niche but I found a channel that has some of the old GWAR movies and some late night metal music review show. Chopping Block TV maybe?
2019 there was a great Yule log channel, but i couldn't find it 2020.
Tubi has a lot of old, cult, niche, B- stuff. Also a surprising number of music performances and documentaries.
There's a lot out there even without subscribing to services.

Where does one exactly find the 80's music channel on the Roku app?

I see clckworang mentioned Amazon, but for those that don't have prime and/or aren't aware, the Amazon Prime app gives you access to IMDB TV (ad-supported stuff) too.
I've mentioned them before but https://www.rokuguide.com/ is a great source with links to the channel on Roku's site.
They also have a list of Private Channels and adult.
I subscribe to the email they send once a week with a list of new channels.

Roku officially bought the rights to most of the Quibi library. It will be available for free with ads.

One I don't think I've seen mentioned that I've started using again a lot is Soma Radio. It's commercial free, has a fairly diverse selection of genres, and plays primarily unknown or lesser known songs. I mostly like it for the downtempo or ambient electronic stations, but threw up the Christmas stations this year. Tons of holiday songs, none of the standards that I've heard 1000 times and have grown to hate. Quite a few funny ones, too.
Thought I'd toss it out there if you use your Roku for music listening.

I hope they re-edit and put the stuff together. It was fucking stupid watching 7 min episodes.

Re: The Roku Thread
Reno was fun and worth seeing. I went through a few first episodes, but nothing I saw warranted any extended viewing beyond the first few minutes of any other show.

Is there a reason as to why Roku doesn't have the Dish Anywhere app? Is there a way to sideload the app?

So I just bought the Roku Express today and I have a dumb question. How do I turn off the device with my remote?

So I'm having trouble uploading Disney+ or HBO Max. It say's "failure to launch Roku SDK because there is not enough space". What do I do?
