TV shows or movies?

I hear Victoria is awesome, but a big part of that was it being single shot.

Dirty Pretty Things, eXistenZ, Cypher, Stir of Echoes, Queen of Earth, Circle, Headhunters, The Loft (well I didn't hate it), Time Lapse, The Guest... okay yeah these are all more genre thrillers I guess.

Bloodline maybe?

The Returned (french or US, I actually liked both), Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Lost, The Tudors, Terriers, Jessica Jones, Luther, first season of Prison Break, Persons Unknown, Narcos, Bloodline (takes a while to get going), Twin Peaks, Awake, The Fall, How to Get Away w/ Murder, Happy Valley

The pacing on that show is nuts.

American Odyssey is now on Netflix

It aired on NBC last Spring and was cancelled after 1 season.

I liked it even though no one here watched it. Conspiracy thriller and quite suspenseful with many twists. I would say it mostly works as a self contained season. They left a few lingering things, but I think it's a pretty satisfactory watch.

EDIT: forgot to quote, but this in response to Oldboy

Broadchurch is great, as long as British accents don't bother you. Rectify is also great.

Thanks guys. Will pass it along to my friend who is seeking such programming. I told her about Breaking Bad which she never saw. Hope she dives into one of the best dramas ever...

I idn't see if it was mentioned, S2 of Girl Meets World is up, 30 eps.

Both this and Murder popped up just weeks after the end of the season.

I also saw that there is a Netflix King Kong kid cartoon up too.

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

Minions was added.

On a side note, several financial sites are drawing attention to the fact that Netflix has purged so much of their catalog that they're a fraction of Amazon's overall catalog (Amazon now has 18,334 movies to stream while Netflix only has 4,581 movies.)

I found that interesting. I also found it interesting that Netflix's "viewing" algorithm seems to be working better than ever. My front page is now full of stuff I'd actually watch.

Is there a list of Amazon's movies that isn't affiliated with Amazon?

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

Sadly looking up movies on Amazon is confusing even using Amazon's own service box. Netflix makes it much easier to scroll through titles so it actually feels 10 times bigger.

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

FYI...

There are a number of people selling one year Netflix codes on eBay. The codes were giveaways for buying Samsung phones. When applied to an account, the codes give you $119.88, which can be used towards any plan. The codes are usually selling for $65-$75 right now, so it is basically a 40ish percent savings. The codes have to be applied to your account before April 30th. I've read that the limit per Netflix account is four active codes, but I can only confirm two, since that is what I did.

With the codes expiring on April 30th, you could see the price drop as more people dump codes, or go up as more people to scramble to buy them. Still a good deal either way if you're planning on keeping service for a while. Search for Netflix year on eBay and you should find a bunch of listings. As with any eBay auction, it is up to you to find a seller that looks good to you.

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

I would jump at $65 but $75 is cheapest right now .... soo tempting .... thinking about buying two.

Screw it, I went for it, $150 for two years of Netflix. I went to Instantwatcher and pulled up shows and there's just too much good stuff to watch there.

Amazon pulled Angel. When I finish Private Practice (on last season) I may have to finally give it a go.

For some reason, I would expect Adam Sandler to be in said film.

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

Netflix announced that the Disney Exclusive deal will begin in September. I'm going to assume it'll kick off with a big title, like The Force Awakens or something similar (a movie everybody who wants to see has seen and likely owns, huzzah).
