I'm done with DeepDiscount

I have, so far, gotten all of my "20% off" shipments from DD within 5-6 days from receiving the shipping confirmation. (Which is pretty much the amount of time it has always taken.)

Currently Media Mail is quite fast as anyone who has sold DVDs to SecondSpin or DVDPlanet can vouch. When I sent an order to each of them last month, they received my shipments within 5-6 days. That's across the continent for SS (NYC to CA) and NYC to DeepDiscount territory for DVDP. So it looks like something is wrong at the distribution end of DD supply chain.

One week later, I placed order with DVDPlanet 20% sale.
The DVDPlanet order arrived yesterday (Friday).
I am still waiting for my DD order.
So, to answer your question, NO.

I only use them if they have something that's truly a good deal. I was one of the Star Trek $34.95 box set people from back in late October/Early November of 07. I ordered the first day it went on sale and got my order the second week of December.

placed an order on the first day of the DD 20% sale. One week later, I placed order with DVDPlanet 20% sale. The DVDPlanet order arrived yesterday (Friday). I am still waiting for my DD order. So, to answer your question, NO.

It'll be three weeks tomorrow since I placed my first order.

Ironically, my second order arrived today. Took 15 days. Packed well I must say and there was no damage. Just the damage to my wallet for the taxes I had to pay
My first order remains MIA and I'm patiently waiting for an email response from "customer service".
Anyone know their policy on missing shipments etc? (just in case)

My packages usually arrives on a not so fast boat from Peking, but I must say that I did just receive an order today that I placed last Tuesday night. This has got to be a record for DD!

I'll never order from DD again. Took 3 weeks to get my HD DVDs from Illinois to California. I ordered and received 2 HD DVDs from the UK in 5 days. Never again.

Once when shipping used dvds (via media mail) that I traded-in to Dvd Planet, I asked my local contact at the Post Office about media mail. He said they ship media mail on a "space available" basis. There has to be space on the truck; otherwise they get bumped until there is space available. I'm not sure if this policy applies to a business like DeepDiscount or not, but considering the sheer volume of shipments, that may still be the case.
Regardless, even if it takes three weeks for my orders to arrive, I'm more concerned with the shipment arriving undamaged (and in a box preferably.) I have plenty of dvd's that I can watch in the interim.
However, shipping dvd's in a bubble mailer is another story altogether. Heck, I'll pay extra for a box if necessary.
DeepDiscount has never screwed me over in the 7+ years I've given them my business.
If a dvd doesn't arrive, they replace it. If a dvd arrives damaged, they replace it. While their prices may not be as "deep discount" as they use to be as compared to other online vendors, I cannot really complain under the circumstances.

I don't think ship times from DDD ever bother me. I go in ordering knowing it'll take awhile. If it's something I really want to see right away or a new release, I use B&M's. If you're ordering something that you've put off purchasing for whatever reason anyway, I don't see how waiting 3 weeks makes a difference.

My second and third package arrived today from DVD Planet. I am still waiting for my order from DD 20% sale, which was placed on the first day of the sale. If it doesn't show up by Friday, I am going to deem the order lost.

I have so far received all of my packages from DDD in a window of 5-6 days, with the exception of one that was "shipped" two weeks ago.

I just wanted to reiterate that the shipping time was never an issue with me. It was the fact that lately they never have anything in stock. So you can add at least a week on top of them getting the items before they're even shipped out. I felt it was ridiculous they don't have anything in stock anymore. Especially on titles that just came out. There is just no excuse for that. I'll explore other online stores for a while to see if I have better luck. And yes, amazon.co.uk is the best site I've ever dealt with. One time I placed an order on a Sunday and had the item in hand by Wednesday(!!) And I just paid for regular shipping. Hands down the best service.

I've had two problems with a couple of my orders I placed during this sale.. One order they shipped me the wrong item and then tried to tell me I had to ship it back and when they received it they would send out the right product. Yeah right! She finally agreed to send me out the right product but told me I had to return the other item at my own expense. Wrong again.

I got about 25 discs delivered to me, free of charge, in three weeks. I upgraded my DVD Planet orders to UPS delivery because I've had problems with them in the past. I'll still stick with DD and their free shipping until I have a problem, then I'll probably start paying for shipping. No big deal.
