is it only for store credit or can I get a check or something? I have a bunch of old crap I want to get rid of but would rather have the $$$ than the store credit. Anyone know?

First time using dvd planet, am very pleased so far. Sent in some dvds and 2 days after they received it, account was credited. Super fast. Only thing that sucks is Knocked Up Hd Dvd is already out of stock
.... Have to wait till oct 17th. Ah well.

Now I would almost swear to it being in pristine condition when I sent it, but that's another story. What's odd is that I haven't received any store credit or even a simple email confirmation saying that my DVDs have been received when it's obvious they have been. This is getting very annoying.

This inconsistent time frame for their crediting worries me, although it's only been one week exactly since they received my package. Hope I don't have to wait 11 more weeks.

I've used the QM about 6 times since June, and I haven't had any problems with it. I'm happy with the turn around time, and the offers. If I wasn't, I would use it. I think that's kind of the key. If you're not happy with it, don't use it.

I just posted a large box of well over $200 worth of used discs to secondspin. Most of these discs were new-ish titles that for whatever reasons aren't being accepted by dvd planet's quote machine, or are accepted at prices even lower than their competitors.
At any rate, after all these years of selling used discs exclusively to dvd planet, it's a little sad to see this happening...

I've used the quote machine many times over the last year or so without incident, until just a few days ago. I sent discs from three different quotes all in the same box, with everything clearly marked. The shipping label had all three quote numbers, and each group of discs had a corresponding QM e-mail printout.
The USPS delivered the shipment, but DVD Planet only acknowledged receipt of items from two of the quotes. To further confuse the matter, they claim to have received all of the titles listed in those two quotes, when in fact I only sent a portion of them.
One of their employees made a major blunder when processing my trade-ins, and when I attempt to respond to the QM e-mail using the address they supplied, my letter is bounced back with an "unknown user" failure notice. I forwarded my message to DVD Planet's regular customer service account yesterday and am waiting for a response.
They shortchanged me by about $25, so I'm eager to hear back from them.
Update: Heard from them earlier today; everything was corrected very quickly. I'm impressed.

Well, it's been over a month now and still no store credit applied.
The DVD I had rejected was sent back via UPS Ground. I assume that's their usual method.

so lets see... if you factor in the holiday and sunday it only took 5 business days to get my credit. also, they accepted all of my discs so no rejects. needless to say i'm 100% satisfied.

I tried DVDplanet for the first time with a trade-in of $130+ in used DVD's and HD-DVD's. The prices were fair, so I went for it. It took over 1 month before I finally emailed them regarding the status of my quote. I received an email the next day saying I would have my credit in 48 hours. Three days later, I had to email and finally call to get the matter resolved. Credit finally approved. Not the best service around, but not horrible, either. I may give them a second chance.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know how they handle shipping? If I order one item in stock and another pre-order, will I get my in-stock item shipped immediately, or will they wait for the whole order to get in?
Thanks.

Thanks.
I recently had a one week turnaround from shipment to DVDPlanet to crediting my account (the best turnaround yet. Typically, it's been 3 weeks or longer). I am impressed.

I finally tried this - I sent my box of 15 or so DVDs ($115 total) to DVDPlanet on the 15th of this month, and I had the credit in my account no more than seven business days from the day that I shipped to them using media mail. That's way, way quicker than I expected them to be for me.

Okay, this isn't Quote Machine related so I apologize, but since this seems to be the only DVD Planet thread people look at...
Am I the only one who can almost never look at their used DVD selection? Whenever I click on the "Used" link on the main navigation bar, it takes me to what looks like the used page... but only three or four links appear on the left, instead of the full list of categories. And if you click on any of the three or four, you get an empty list. And I've tried it using multiple browsers, so I know that ain't the problem.
I used to see this from time to time on their site, and I just figured they were updating their inventory. But it seems like it's been getting worse, and it's now been like that for several days for me. Anybody else have this problem, or any idea what's causing it?

I have a couple of Blu-rays that have the little proof-of-purchase tab cut off the back cover (they were sent in to qualify for a promotion).
Will DVD Planet accept these as used disc trade-in's?
