I did say that I was going to dispute the charges with my credit card and thats when she said to return to sender on them. It takes me about 10 days to get an order from them and if it takes that long for them to recieve them back. I might end up having to pay interest for a month on them.

Screw disputing the charges, I would just dispute the difference.

I didn't know you could dispute the difference. Do I have to send the credit card company my email with the discount or just call them.

I don't know, it depends on the company. I just wish that I paid with my Amex card, they are great with these types of things.

You could contact customer service or email them.

See what it shows when delivered then contact DDD and your credit card company if the discount is not reflected.

Strongly suggest you print the screen showing the discount or, if you have one, retain any emails showing it.

If nothing else, your credit card should give you a charge back.
I emailed Customer Service, have yet to hear back. But I checked my Credit Card online and it shows the correct amount, so hopefully I'm in the clear.

I got a shipment notice of the titles they have on hand. The email had the total discount price for the titles I ordered. Hopefully they charged the same to the CC. I also have one on backorder til 6/19 and they went ahead and shipped my stuff. I did pay 4.95 for shipping. The rest are preorders.

catsmeow, when you receive your credit card statement, and if it shows the full price, call them saying you only wish to dispute the difference (you'll need to give that amount).

Unless they reduce the charges automatically (sometimes they do for small amounts) they will send you paperwork. At that time send the copies.

They will act on your behalf with DDD.

First Wave of non pre-orders seemed to have gone through WITH the discount. The charge hasn't showed up on my CC yet, but I will update when it shows up to make sure the right amount was charged:

Also, the order status on the website does NOT have this updated yet (the non pre-orders still say IN PROCESS).

Finally, I submitted my order around 1AM Central for those who are interested.

Shipping Method: 5 - 10 BUSINESS DAY DELIVERY

EDIT2: I ordered 3 copies of the Weezer DVD. It looks like I got the 20% discount on only 1 of those. Hopefully that's the only issue.

Two of my DVDs were shipped today, however according to the shipping e-mail I received they charged me full price. I guess its time to make a call.
***********
Update- I just called DDD and I was charged the full price for everything that shipped. I informed the CSR that I have an e-mail confirming I was eligible for the discount. She put me on hold and then came back and agreed to adjust the prices on everything that had already shipped. When I questioned whether all of my pre-orders (Videodrome, Blazing Saddles, etc.) would ship at the discounted price she told me she couldnt be sure but more than likely that since this order shipped at full price all of my future orders would ship at full price. At that point I told her to just cancel my orders. I cant spend time on the phone at work adjusting DVD prices every time something ships. So much for them honoring the discount!! From now on I will stick to Best Buy and Amazon.

Thanks, DDD, for deciding to honor the coupon.

The issue isnt whether or not there was supposed to be a discount. The fact of the matter is that I have an e-mail confirming one price and I am not being charged the price I was quoted. I wouldn't care one way or another if it wasnt for what's posted below. I'm sure DDD won't miss my business and I certainly wont lose any sleep over theirs.

Here is my experience.

I put in 2 orders last Thursday morning with the 20% discount. The first one has not shipped yet because Bubba Ho-Tep is backordered. However, my 2nd order surprisingly shipped the next day, last Friday with free shipping. In it I ordered 3 Criterions and a box set. Anyway, I was more surprised when the order arrived today!! Less than a week after I ordered!

DDD gone wild?

Wonder if I can stop this second shipment?

Thanks, I know they charged me full amount because I got the amount charged by calling the CC. I will call them and print out the email they sent and the order status page that still has the discount on it.

My out of stock item just shipped at the sales price. The only things I have left that have not shipped are 2 preorders - Dallas and Star Wars.

All my non-pre/back-order items shipped today (2 orders) at the additionally discounted prices. Nice.

I'm very thankful that my non-pre orders shipped with the Discount, but I won't be one of the people who say "thanks DDD!" because I believe I was just one of the lucky ones.

I've been keeping up to date on this thread, and it looks like a lot of people have had some big problems with this discount.

It's one thing to cancel all the orders, accept all the orders (with discount), or cancel the discount. If it's going to be the latter, at least TELL PEOPLE that the price has changed and give the person the choice to decide if they still want the order or not. Don't ship it out and charge them the price that they did not agree on. And finally, BE CONSISTENT! It's ridiculous that some people have been able to get the discount, some haven't, some have had their orders cancelled, some get one e-mail saying this, some don't get an e-mail, etc...

I will probably continue to do business from DDD, but I will think twice if another place has the same DVD for somewhere near the same price.

My 2 cents....

It's been my experience that when people receive merchandise and everything goes smoothly, they tend to move on with their lives and DON'T post their positive experiences. However, people who have had a negative experience tend to post much more--as a way of venting their dissatisfaction and calling attention to the company that "screwed" them. I'd suggest you look at the poll in the other thread to get a more "realistic" idea of the number of people who have had "lots" of problems with this discount. From the way I read the data, I'd say that DDD is doing a good job under the circumstances.

Just my 2 cents...

shipped today...

1 WBD024275 DVD : BABYLON 5-5TH COMPLETE SEASON $ 74.99
1 WBD027972 DVD : BABYLON 5-4TH COMPLETE SEASON $ 74.99

Merchandise Total: $ 149.98
Tax: $ .00
Shipping & Handling: $ .00
Discount: - $ 30.00
Total for Shipped Items: $ 119.98

All my other stuff is pre-orders over the next couple of months, guess I'll find out soon if the next batch get a discount. Frankly, if they'll give me a 20% discount if I bug em about it, I don't see the big deal, people in here do all kinds of stuff to save a buck or two
