That is so incredibly lame.

Why'd you tell that joke?

Wow, I didn't realize there was a gigantic thread about this already. Have the admins spoken on this? You'd think they would maybe value the sanity of their members over a little dough from whoever produced "Frontier(s)." Jeesh.

Haha. I did a little reading backwards in this thread and realized that DVDTalk is owned by a big company now, not the little guy anymore. Sad face.

Are the folks with the ad company still on vacation? I thought this was going to be addressed by now?

Serious lack of thought on that move.

I like how the ad is more obnoxious now, than before. Its like IB is trying to hammer us into submission.

I once belonged to a movie forum, the admins/owner put the hammer down one too many times on most of the members. Those members went and started their own forum. The other movie forum is now much more active than the original movie forum.

I am not advocating that here, just putting it out there.

I was considering buying some Internet Brands stock, but not after this fiasco.

I have never come to the Feedback forum to complain about an ad before, so imagine how surprised I was to see a 1 week old, 17 page thread about the Frontier(s) ads!

of course, now that I have opened and posted in the thread, I'm sure I can expect targeted ads now because I have shown 'interest' in Frontier(s).

Dude, buy a controlling interest like Sun did, then you can make them your bitch!

[During normal business hours, Monday to Friday, of course.]

Exactly. The only thing that has changed is that we no longer have anyone telling us to grin and bear it. IB is silent, which is likely making things worse.

But for those thinking that these type of ads are new to DVDTalk or that Geoff always took down the offending ads, that isn't how I recall things pre-IB (read the thread posted above for an example).

Too many comments like this, while expressing your opinion of the ad, have made this thread worthy of closing. If IB people have anything to say they still will be able to post it.

We haven't heard any more than that they were cutting down on the frequency of the ad. We don't know how long it's going to run, whether they're contractually obligated to keep it going, or what.

The complaints have been noted and no further ones are required. If we do find out anything more we'll let you know.

The word is good and bad. First the bad news... for some reason the ad had to go back to a higher rotation. That's why it got more prevalent after dying down for a while.

The good news... it's ending sooner than expected -- just two more days of it.

IB is trying to work out things so that this doesn't happen again. Give them a break, they're new here.

It's the weekend, enjoy it with family and friends, and see how things look in a couple days.
