Re: Empire (FOX) -- S: Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson - Series Thread - Starts 1/7

A lot of persons on sites like TvbytheNumbers and Twitter were saying that the series was going to crash and burn and be CANCELLED after 2 episodes.

Re: Empire (FOX) -- S: Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson - Series Thread - Starts 1/7

Taraji P. Henson is excellent! I am glad that she landed another major project so soon after being written off CBS's TV series "Person of Interest".

The EMPIRE pilot was written in 2013, and...

Re: Person of Interest -- "Allegiance" -- 3/25/14

Most of the episodes since Carter's death have been either heavily Root-centric or Shaw-centric, though, so why do you think those episodes have been so good?

Re: Person of Interest -- "Allegiance" -- 3/25/14

No, "Person of Interest" does not have the name recognition and ratings (18-49 demo) needed to launch a spinoff. It always has been a Top 10 scripted 10 show in viewers, but this season its demo and...

Re: Person of Interest -- "/" -- 3/18/14

Taraji P. Henson did not ask to leave "Person of Interest". It was Jonathan Nolan, the creator and showrunner, who decided it was time to write off Carter to focus on his version of Catwoman (Shaw)...

Re: Person of Interest -- "Aletheia" -- 1/07/14

No, Jim Caviezel is not filming any movies right now. He has had less screen time during Season 3 because Sarah Shahi and Amy Acker are taking some of the load off JC's filming schedule. Their...

Re: Person of Interest -- "2pR" -- 1/03/12

Carter (Taraji P. Henson) is very attractive, but the show intentionally styles her conservatively because she's supposed to be a hardcore cop.

Re: Person of Interest -- "Critical" -- 11/15/12

Ah, you are a year late. John called her "Joss" in Season 1, Episode 9 ("GET CARTER") after she had been shot by Bottlecap.

So, her first name was revealed almost a year ago.

Season 2, Episode...

Re: Actors whose careers have fallen low and fast

Clooney has charisma, but he is *not* a box office draw. His only major film successes over the last decade have been the OCEAN'S films and that is because of the ensemble casts.

Depp has become a...

Re: Dark of the Moon's Dropoff Not Horrible This Weekend: Box Office 7/8-7/10

It appears that the Under-25 audience is going to films less than before. Adults seemily are driving the box office now.

Re: Actors whose careers have fallen low and fast

Killing your career so fast? Not at all. As I have stated, television is where a lot of actors who are not box office leads are heading. The stigma has worn off a lot over the last decade and...

Re: Actors whose careers have fallen low and fast

Forest Whitaker was *never* a leading man, though. His Oscar win was due to his great performance, but it did not suddenly catapult him to leading man status. Many non-lead actors have signed up for...

Re: Actors whose careers have fallen low and fast

Tom Cruise is HUGE internationally, though, so his career is fine. At present, studios are placing much more emphasis on movie stars who are popular worldwide. Tom Cruise is one of the top ones.

Re: Movies where the female is supposed to be crazy hot but is not?

Uma Thurman in all of her films in the late 1980s and 1990s. I will highlight THE TRUTH ABOUT CATS AND DOGS (1996) in which she played the hot girl. I thought that Janeane Garafalo was much prettier...

Re: GRAVITY (2011) (dir. Cuaron) (starring Robert Downey Jr.)

I guess this thread needs to be updated.

The film is shooting now in London. George Clooney replaced Robert Downey Jr., and Sandra Bullock is the female lead. It is NOT being shot in 3D; it will...

Re: Bad Teacher- (06/17/11) Diaz, Siegel, and Timberlake

I liked BAD TEACHER. Unfortunately, I have come to the conclusion that I like Cameron Diaz as an actress. The film liked "bite", but Cameron's performance helped elevate it to something more.
