Re: SNL (S42E21) -- 05/20/17 -- H: Dwayne Johnson -- MG: Katy Perry

You're following the wrong Twitter accounts.

Dang shame that Bayer's best character (Dawn Lazarus) only got two appearances. I assume Villaseñor gets promoted to take her slot.

Moynihan is...

Re: SNL (S42E15) -- 03/04/17 -- H: Octavia Spencer -- MG: Father John Misty

Weakest male cast in a long time, especially since Lorne has no idea how to use Davidson.

EDIT: Ok, looks Davidson just kicked a drug habit. Even so, Beck Bennett is a weak lead.

Hopefully Kate...

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story (FX) -- Series Thread -- 2/2/16

Apparently Larry's wig cost $7500. Hate to think about the costs of recreating the CNN set.

Soundtrack continues to be the best part of this show.

Re: Race (2016, D: Stephen Hopkins) S: Stephan James, Jason Sudeikis

Anyone have filming locations other than Berlin? Obviously Ohio Stadium (OSU), Ferry Field (UMich) and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum have been updated, but the original buildings stand. Hopefully...

Re: Chi-Raq (2015 - A Spike Lee Joint) - Cannon, Jackson, Snipes, Bassett

Not bad. Cusack prosletyzing as Pfather Pfleger was super annoying, but kept to a tolerable amount of screen time.

Everything that stuck closer to the original play was enjoyable.

Other highs: ...

Re: SNL (S41E11) -- 01/23/15 -- H: Ronda Rousey -- MG: Selena Gomez

Ugh then he and Mooney drag down the party skit by apparently stereotyping deaf retards or something.

Yeahhhh Beck. Good straight man against Jay and Taran for the commercial. And RR was cute as a blonde, even with that mole. Too bad it was commercial length.

Re: Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! (SyFy) -- 7/22/15

That ending was absurd, even for this series.

Can't wait for Part 4 next year and the results of the fan vote.

Re: Boardwalk Empire (S5E08) -- Series Finale -- "Eldorado" -- 10/26/14

Wasn't Tommy in Wisconsin for like a decade? How would he even have any contact or knowledge of what happened? Harrow certainly wouldn't have approved how this turned out.

Re: Boardwalk Empire (S5E06) - "Devil You Know" - 10/12/14

Fair enough. Who other than HBO would off two high-profile characters in the same episode?

Re: Boardwalk Empire (S5E05) - "King of Norway" - 10/5/14

The white lady with a cigar. The way she's introduced it makes me feel like we're supposed to know who she is.

And yes, Van Alden is his usual amazing self this season.

Re: Boardwalk Empire (S5E05) - "King of Norway" - 10/5/14

Young Nucky's teeth ruined things for me. I don't think knowing Mickey's #2's name tells us anything about his fate.

While I'm digging new Margaret (in small doses), please no more Gretchen Mol!

Re: Boardwalk Empire (S5E03) - "What Jesus Said" - 9/21/14

This is a show staff that completely recast an adult Willie Thompson...I wouldn't put anything past them.

Re: Boardwalk Empire (S5E03) - "What Jesus Said" - 9/21/14

Arquette counting money and Nucky going through his mail to the same song was kind of a cute touch, interested to see if the Nellie Bly angle goes anywhere.

And yes, "how the fuck are you still...

Re: Boardwalk Empire (S5E02) - "The Good Listener" - 9/14/14

And a fifth...Boris (why always Boris) McGiver plays Marimow in S4 (5?) of the Wire and is the Commodore's Sherriff in BE.

I hope we see more of Ms. Res ipsa loquitur.

Re: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Reeves, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

Greer played Caesar's wife/baby mama. Since she's known for being rather funny and wasn't given anything to do, I'd call it a bad casting job.

Russell I thought was ok as the doctor. Milquetoast...

Re: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Reeves, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

Anyways, the movie looked beautiful with the dystopian San Francisco and the three lead ape actors were amazing. You can get away with not much of a plot...

Re: Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014, Scott) S: Bale, Paul, Edgerton, Weaver, Kingsley

Nice guyliner.

Who does Joel Edgerton (of all people) have suction with to get the Gatsby/Moses baddie push?
