I thought this week's episode was very reminiscent of the Swimming In Oblivion episodes of 'Sealab 2021' and was the best of the season. This can only be amazing.

It's been 95% confirmed that they're going with the original CD track list for the vinyl - so why does taking two (short) songs off require adding a whole fourth LP? 28 songs puts 5 songs on four...

We've already got '87 with 'Hold That Tiger'.

I'm excited for this - one of my favorite Sonic Youth albums and the existing bootlegs of this era aren't really of the best sound quality.

My one hope for the 'Pisces Iscariot' reissue is that they make the vinyl a double LP - they're going through all the trouble to remaster these (and they sound pretty good), it'd be a shame to cram...

Surely a used copy of either isn't terribly hard to come by, and even if they wanted a remaster there are also a single disc.

I totally agree. I didn't hear much difference in 'Cherub Rock', but 'Quiet' - and then again 'Geek U.S.A.' - were a total kick in the teeth with how monstrous they were.

I actually really liked how each song for 'Siamese Dream' got its own postcard - superfluous, sure, but a nice touch.

I do wonder if Billy purposely picked terrible pictures of James and D'arcy...

My thought on that when the track lists were first announced was that there's SO MUCH pre-'Gish' stuff that didn't make it to the album demo stage - and so much actual 'Gish' stuff to choose from...

I got my sets last night and have spent a good chunk of time listening to them.

First thoughts: the boxes are beautiful and the presentation on the 'Siamese Dream' vinyl is just stunning....

The remasters aren't out until the 15th, but apparently Beggars was sending out pre-orders VERY early. Perhaps they'll be on Spotify after that? (Though since there are no bonus tracks on the albums...

Now THESE they could have done crazy $100+ box sets for each and I would have been all over them. As it is, I'm more than happy to give them my $50-ish for the pair and another $50 for the vinyl sets.

I checked the album out when I found out he was opening for Active Child on tour. It didn't impress me and, sadly, the live show didn't help change my mind any. Oh well.

Today it's been bootlegs...
