This arrived yesterday, and while I have gone off of Sonic Youth over the past few years thanks to the not-very-good 'The Eternal' and the *terrible* show I saw on that tour, I was recently reminded how much I love those early records. (Well...everything up through 'Washing Machine' unconditionally and then bits and pieces of things after that.) Anyways, I'm fairly certain this record has never sounded this good, even if it does lose something with all the hiss and haze being cleared away. LP has also always been the only way to listen to this one, with "Death Valley 69" barreling out of nowhere and violently ending the album. So good job all around, ORG.
