Re: Netflix - News & Discussion

I miss when Netflix had old obscure movies, like American Raspberry, Hot T-Shirts and Cracking Up.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Was gonna enjoy the 5.1 mixes of the first two Depeche Mode albums this week, but found out both DVDs have rotted. Overpaid for replacements since they’re out of print, we’ll
see if those play. Wuck...

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion

Seriously, fuck them. For that much, there absolutely should be a 100% configurable interface so you can actually enjoy stuff without their crap intruding on it. But instead they kept breaking the...

Re: Stranger Things: The Complete Series (BD / UHD) - Arrow, 7/27/26

There is a cheaper edition that doesn't come with the patches, poster or large book. I will probably go for the cheaper one if I get this, unless I end up REALLY loving the first 2 seasons I have...

Re: The Golden Raspberry Awards / Razzie Awards Thread

War of the Worlds shouldn’t have qualified since it went direct to streaming, and only on Amazon at that. A few years ago they gave the award to a pro-Trump documentary by Mike Lindell which also...

Oh great, I still haven’t watched the two Target sets yet. How limited will this be?

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2025 Blu-ray and 4K releases

I’d buy a 3D Blu-ray of Zootopia 2 in a plain sleeve if that was the only way to get it. Won’t take any 2D copy in a steelbook with a slipcover!

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2025 Blu-ray and 4K releases

And of course no 3D- I have the first Zootopia in 3D, not buying this one in 2D.

Re: It's been said before, but my GOD radio just SUCKS now!

And how many of those were current songs, released after January this year? I could see playing a brand new song often, but certainly no reason to play older songs more than once per month. For the...

Re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

Actually, you can try changing the quality to SD and you might get the 4x3 versions that way. I have the UHD copy of Grease redeemed from the disc, but when selecting HDX I instead get the 1998...

Re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

A lot of Warner-owned shows seem to have cropped for widescreen transfers. This is why it was good when Vudu let you check out the first 2 minutes of everything for free.

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

Phone video has gotten so bad, I’ve actually heard people on TV news asking people to hold their phones sideways if they shoot video they want to send to them. They’ve been showing vertical videos...

Re: It's been said before, but my GOD radio just SUCKS now!

And guess what? Dead 105 played Smells Like Teen Spirit this morning at 8:45! In the 6 AM hour they also played Nirvana’s Unplugged version of The Man Who Sold The World, which I’ve heard so many...

Re: It's been said before, but my GOD radio just SUCKS now!

Wish I could’ve gone to see Alex Bennett. We need more like him.

KFOG seriously declined and then switched to all-sports a few years ago (it was rumored Dead 105 would go all-sports but KFOG beat...

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

Just remembered one of the dumbest callers I had when I worked at Tower.com- if you remember, Shrek originally was a 2-disc set with both foolscreen and widescreen transfers, but then the foolscreen...

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

I saw that picture- why is it that almost EVERYONE who posts pictures shows it stretched? It’s like saying “Look at me, I’m an idiot!”

One jerk-off there even had some burned LDs with production...

Re: Best Buy to furlough 51,000 hourly employees

Obviously. And Legos. Those are the first things I go to any electronics store for, but forget those obsolete discs with hi-res audio formats and high bitrate video, it’s all about streaming in Dolby...

Re: VIDEOHEAVEN (2025, D: Alex Ross Perry) Documentary on Video Rental Stores

I heard they have a special “VHS section” there this month, ironic since Criterion never put out VHS tapes.

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

A lot of analog video enthusiasts say that, but I have to strongly disagree. Any analog video source shown properly on my 75-inch 4K screen
looks infinitely better than they did on my 40-inch CRT....

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

This is why I don't feel at all bad about hoarding several GOOD laserdisc players (with the proper audio outputs, which I have the proper equipment to connect them to) and about 3,732 laserdiscs at...

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

Articles like these bring up points that I brought up the first time I watched a streaming movie more than 15 years ago. Shortly after that was the first real case of having stuff taken away from...

Been slowly going through all the Simpsons seasons, on Season 4 right now. Have 1-20 on disc with all the ones on Blu-Ray that were issued that way. Have all the episodes past season 20 through...
