Re: Albums Bought (2022)

Visited an estate sale on Saturday, this person had a massive CD collection but it had been mostly picked over (guy just ahead of me was filling up boxes of them). I only ended up with four for a buck a piece:
The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour
Daft Punk, early album
two relaxation/meditation albums.

Been looking forward to this one for some time. A nice companion piece to Heaven Up Here.

I am slowly creating a collection of older Beatles releases plus Beatles "alternates" albums.

Besides Let It Be...Naked and Let It Be Revisited (by Mojo magazine), does anyone know of any other tribute style versions of Beatles albums?

I also have Working Class Hero, a tribute to John Lennon
George Martin’s In My Life has musicians and celebrities singing Beatles songs with Martin producing. Sean Connery reads the title track as a poem. Jim Carey hams up I Am the Walrus, Robin Williams sings Come Together with Bobby McFerrin acting as his band.

A third hypothetical possibility, is if Tom Warrior had paid for ALL the original Cold Lake recording session studios costs out of his own pocket all along. In such a scenario, he likely would have owned the copyright to the master tapes from the start.

I have to wonder what happened during the studio sessions of the previous album To Mega Therion with Horst Mueller, which led to Mueller not producing/engineering further metal albums after 1985 (or early 1986). If it turned out to be a clusterfuck with Mueller in the studio, then perhaps Tom Warrior wanted greater oversight and control over the studio sessions for the subsequent albums . The only way to achieve the latter, would be Tom paying the studio costs out of his own pocket.

Re: Albums Bought (2022)

I picked up some cheap vinyl during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales:

KISS - Creatures of the Night (half speed mastered)
Behemoth - I Loved You At Your Darkest (2 LP 45rpm version)
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
King Diamond - Fatal Portrait (orange vinyl)
The Cure - Seventeen Seconds
Joy Division - Atmosphere (b/w She's Lost Control) 12" single
Metallica - S/T (The Black Album) remaster
