Re: Albums Bought (2022)

Norah Jones Come Away With Me 20th Anniversary. 3 disc set, Amazon finally dropped the price to 25 and change. Very nice little booklet, haven't had a chance to listen yet.

I found this Grateful Dead Winterland 1977 boxset with the bonus disc at a yard sale today for $30.00.

it was supposed to come out on vinyl last week, now it's been pushed back to July.

Re: Albums Bought (2022)

Did some thrifting over the weekend, got Elvis #1s. I’ve seen this in thrift stores for years, but it always looked like crap, finally found a clean copy.

Also found a 2 disc set of “space” music. Holst’s The Planets, music from CE3K and SW:ANH and Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra.

Then, one of the soundtracks to Neon Genesis Evangelion.
And a Brazilian jazz vocalist CD from Japan that I listened to part of and then listed on eBay called Quarteto Forma.

Re: Albums Bought (2022)

Just picked up the vinyl reissue of Slayer's Seasons in the Abyss. Now if they would just reissue South of Heaven on vinyl so I don't have to pay the current high prices for it.

Back in the day, I never saw the vinyl version when Seasons was first released. The cd version was widely available.

It was only sometime later in the 1990s, that I first saw a vinyl copy.

Re: Albums Bought (2022)

Yeah, that makes sense considering it was released in 1990, vinyl was almost phased out by then, it probably had a small pressing and not many stores ordered it. I don't recall seeing it on vinyl back then either, I originally bought it on cassette. Nice condition original US pressings look like they sell for $300-400 these days due to that, no thanks!

Re: Albums Bought (2022)

This just came in on CD. It was shelved by Neil Young in 2002 when he released Are You Passionate? with Booker T and the MGs instead. I like Are You Passionate? but Toast is even better.

Re: Albums Bought (2022)

I got my Linda Lindas album, and it's a real fun listen. I hope these girls keep it up.

But I'm a little pissed, because I bought it from the band's merch site directly, to ensure that I'd get it. Plus maybe without the middlemen the band would see more of the money. But it was more expensive than had I got it at a local store (which all of my local shops have a copy), it took two more weeks, and the only one I could get from the band was black vinyl. My stores all have the clear vinyl with colored splatters.

Glad I could support these kids, but I wish I had just waited and bought it at a store instead.

I found the DCC gold disc versions of Metallica's Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets the other day for $35 each. They sound great.

Nice, I'd love to find affordable copies of those releases.

Re: Albums Bought (2022)

Havukruunu - Kuu Erkylän Yllä - vinyl
Black Sabbath - We Sold Our Soul for Rock and Roll - Walmart exclusive green vinyl
KISS - Love Gun - Walmart exclusive colored vinyl
Moonsorrow - Jumalten Aika - limited deluxe CD set
Grima - Frostbitten - CD

plus the new Behemoth album, Opvs Contra Natvram, limited signed vinyl is finally in the mail from Poland after I preordered it months ago

Still need to pick up the new Megadeth, it sounds pretty good.

A new Celtic Frost limited box set was just announced that sounds tempting, but not sure if I want to drop the $200+ for it.

Re: Albums Bought (2022)

Went a little crazy with a 20% off my entire purchase coupon yesterday and picked up the following

Please Please Me and A Hard Days Night which were the last two studio albums I needed from the Beatles

Get a Grip and Done with Mirrors from Aerosmith. It’s not a great album but have a lot of sentimental attachment to get a grip and they had it new for 30 before my discount. Haven’t seen it below 50 since getting into vinyl. Picked up Done With Mirrors because it was nm used for $10 and i may end up with all of their albums someday.

Sea of Cowards by Dead Weather
Horses by Patti Smith
A live Guns N’ Roses bootleg
True Romance soundtrack
Bob Newhart Faces Bob Newhart (Faces Bob Newhart) by Bob Newhart
Brainwashed by George Harrison
Briefcase Full of Blues by the Blues Brothers
Mezmerize by System of a Down
Rockin legends tribute to Jack White by Rockin legends
