Took advantage of Amazon coupons that showed up on some vinyl on my wishlist.

I think you were shipped the wrong album; that's not Frank Zappa

I’ve considered this. How is it? I’ve got an old bootleg of Dylan & Cash performing together that I remember liking. Hell, it could even be from this, or another show done around the same time.

I enjoy it and feel it is worth the $25 they are asking for it. It is most likely the same Dylan/Cash sessions you already have but they have been cleaned up nicely. The John Wesley Harding outtakes on disc one are great.

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

Most likely my final music purchases of the year, finishing up strong with a couple of unearthed/updated classics!

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

I thought I was done for the year also, but then found out that a site called Real Gone Music does occasional rereleases of old Grateful Dead Dick’s Picks. So I picked up #24, which is the 3/23/74 show from Daly City, CA.

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

To close out this thread, I made a collage of my favorite new album releases of 2019.
Not a bad year for rock albums, especially considering how some say that rock, and the album format is "dead"

Spoiler:

[top to bottom]

Black Mountain - Destroyer
Black Pistol Fire - Deadbeat Graffiti
Black Pumas - s/t
Richard Hawley - Further
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Infest the Rats Nest
Magpie Salute - High Water II
The Oh Sees - Face Stabber
Raconteurs - Help Us Stranger
Ride - This is Not a Safe Place
Reignwolf - Hear Me Out
Rival Sons - Feral Roots
Sturgill Simpson - Sound & Fury
Vampire Weekend - Father of the Bride
Trigger Hippy - Full Circle
White Denim - Side Effects
White Reaper - You Deserve Love

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

^ Just curious, did you pick up the 2019 Ex Hex album It's Real? They definitely go for a 70s rock sound on this release.

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

They're alright, but not a favorite - I actually think they're a little too derivative of that late '70s pop/rock thing, and while some of the stuff I like definitely has that early '70s hard rock and/or blues thing, there's enough original elements in them to keep them fresh.

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

I haven’t put much thought into a top 10 list, but definitely agree with King Gizz being on it. Mandolin Orange was one of my absolute favorites of the year

Kinda flew under the radar, but anyone pick up The Who's latest album? Released early December. Their first in 13 years.

I have not. My local record store had it for $30 I think, which was a little excessive. Make that a lot excessive.
