Darkthrone - Arctic Thunder

The band's raw, heavy guitar sound is especially nice on vinyl. Hell, most metal sounds pretty good on vinyl.

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

I was listening to a podcast called "80s Underground", where I often hear great music from the era that I did not know about (example, it was where I first heard The Tourists, the pre-Eurythmics band with Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart...good stuff, check it out, it's nothing like The Eurythmics). This week I heard Original Mirrors, a short-lived power pop band. Singer Ian Broudie would go on to form The Lightning Seeds. So I got their debut album from Discogs for a couple of bucks:

Here's the song I heard on the podcast, by the way:

Finally, while Discoging, I got the Vance or Towers LP:

This band's claim to fame?
Spoiler:
They played at Carrie's high school prom in 1976

Blinded by the Light (soundtrack)- already own a lot of Springsteen albums, but wanted to support the film.

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

Picked up Liam Gallagher's new solo album - Why Me? Why Not. Probably not as catchy as his first album, if a little more consistent and poppy. Sounds a whole lot like mid-tier Oasis songcraft.

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

Broke my own rule of not buying live Ramones records, not when I already own It's Alive.

It was either that, or a still-sealed copy of Leave Home

The latest -

The brand new album from ANGEL! (Great album if you're already a fan, and a very good album if you're just a fan of 70's and early 80's Hard Rock with moments of Power Pop.)

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

New reissue of rare 7" single by NWOBHM band Blitzkrieg ("Buried Alive" b/w "Blitzkrieg"), gold vinyl with poster. The original single sells for up to $200, so it's nice to have a cheaper alternative. The B-side was famously covered by Metallica on the "Garage Days" B-side of their Creeping Death EP.
