Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread
Hey Blue did you end up ordering this? Thoughts?
Now that I have a turntable I think I may get it if possible. I saw it for sale (for $100 I think) at the show when I saw em in October. Im going to see them again in April and may get it than. Do you remember if you saw this at the show when you saw em in LA? Remember the price?

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread
I just discovered these guys due to Rue Morgue magazine (which seems to mention them several times each issue) and finally decided to spotify them. I was glad I did. Great hooks and really good vocals.
Not what I was expecting at all.
Then I saw this thread and read through it. After all the mentions of how good they are live, I checked to see if they were coming around here anytime soon and sure enough, they will be here May 2nd. Really small venue (1300 people) but it is a great place to see a band as there is no bad area to stand. Tickets were cheap too. $25 plus surcharge. Looking forward to it.
If I was really into them and into swag, the special tickets looked pretty cool. $250 for the meet and greet is a bunch but for $100 you get all the cool swag without the meet and great. $100 includes: •One general admission ticket •VIP early entry into the venue •Specially designed Ghost tour shirt (exclusive to package only) •Collectible, silkscreened tour poster autographed by Papa and the Ghouls (numbered, limited print) •Collectible Ghost offering plate •Limited edition Ghost glass vigil candle •Commemorative Black to the Future tour laminate •Exclusive Ghost tour merchandise item.
I almost want to buy the $100 ticket just for all the cool sounding stuff even though I am not a huge fan...yet.

Buy the $100 ticket. Trust me. You'll be such a fan after seeing them live you'll wish you'd bought it if you don't.
I wish they were coming back to CA soon. I'd be all over the $250 tickets, no question.

Agreed. Although, to be fair, that was not the main broadcast and the auditorium wasn't even 1/3 full. I'm sure 90% of the people there have never even heard of them.
Regardless, glad to see them win.

What was cool is that they went to the Kendrick Lamar after party.

"Meliora" has been on constant rotation on my Spotify since I discovered it. So many good songs on this album.
How many people think that if you played "He Is" to a a Christian who knows nothing about Ghost, they would think it was a catchy song about their god/Jesus?

Only if they weren't really paying attention to the lyrics.
I mean the second line is "Two star crossed lovers reaching out to the beast with many names"
"He is insurrection, he is spite"
"The guidance of the Morningstar"
etc.
I mean it's a really beautiful song, and I could see where the "shining and the light" parts could confuse someone for a minute, but there's no question that it's about Satan if you're paying the slightest bit of attention.

There was a video posted where a couple got married and their first song and dance number was to "He Is." It was quite amusing, because the rest of the WASPS were just standing there grinning while this song about Satan is playing on.

The band won a Swedish grammy for best hard rock/metal album of the year. They performed the full-on version of He Is. They even had contemporary dancers and Papa on the big screen as the puppet master pulling the strings. Also one of the ghouls was playing on a grand piano.
Phenomenal performance!

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread
I took my 10 year old son to their show in Niagara Falls last night (his first rock concert), they were fantastic! People were so cool to my son, one lady who attended the meet and greet had an extra autographed poster and gave it to us. We just had regular tickets and it was hard for my son to see anything, and a theater employee noticed this and let us go up to the VIP balcony and found a spot right at the front so we could have a great view.
There were a fair amount of kids there actually, Papa made the comment that he saw some "little ones" in the front row, and warned that if anyone tried crowd surfing he would be "very disappointed"
and told everyone to take care of the little ones. We had a great time!

Going to see them tonight locally. Was curious if they had any cool limited CD releases or something like that at their concerts for sale?

Just announced - Ghost playing 10/20 @ Wiltern. Tickets on sale in 2 days, presale tomorrow. From the looks of it, this is some sort of special show.

Fucking hell - I can't go. They're calling it "Popestar" so I wonder if it's time for another Ascension?

I scored a pit seat. Never heard of Deafheaven but I'm going to make a better effort to listen to openers before seeing a show.

You do the Citi presale? Deafheaven seem to have a love/hate with metal fans. I think some of the heat is from their universal love by hipsters.
