I got the Inside Llewyn Davis "poster" today but not the record. It's more like a card that'll just get stuck inside the record. Not very attractive.

I may scoop up some used Blondie vinyl - been meaning to do that for a while now.

FYI - Not sure how their debut is generally rated, but I think it might be the best album they ever made, even better than Parallel Lines.

"Rip Her To Shreds" is my all-time favorite Blondie track.

Mondo will have a booth at the Halloween: 35 Years of Terror convention in Pasadena this weekend. They're selling a variant of the recently-released soundtrack for Halloween, limited to 1000 copies. Alternate (better, imo) artwork, and orange splatter platters.

Specs and pics here: http://blog.mondotees.com/

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I prefer the non-alternate artwork, actually.

I'd love to get my hands on that poster. Too bad it'll probably be out of my range when it hits eBay.

Shit, I'll be working down the street from the convention center this weekend, too. Fuck, i'm tempted to stop by and scoop one up.

Well, I AM the guy running the con. Stop by and come see the festivities!

Oh shit, I should come by just to say hi. Still, Pasadena's a bit out of my way.

I got the solid orange Halloween. Can't decide if I should try and get this one. The only one that eats at me is that pink Drive I didn't get.

So people have received their copies of the Halloween release? I haven't even received a shipment confirm yet!

haven't received my Halloween LP ordered from Mondo. I think the solid orange is a randomly inserted variant - but I think I like the splattered version better.

MBoyd lives in Austin so he probably picked it up at their shop. I don't think they've begun to ship them yet.

Exactly. I run over there on Fridays and pick up usually, unless they're closed up getting ready for a show.

I'm wondering what the solid orange pressing number is compared to the 1000 for the splatter.

Fuck, I'm right down the street. I can see the convention center from here!

How many of you collected/hung onto vinyl before the resurgence?

I started collecting used jazz records/exotica/lounge in the 90s. Picked them up cheap at half Price. Got rid of them when I moved unfortunately. Never got to listen to them. :( got into the vintage gear last year.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

And my question wasn't meant to sound snobby (looking at it, it kinda sounds that way)...I was just wondering since I have a decent collection, but have only bought 1 piece of vinyl in over 10 years. All my stuff was from pre-CD that I never got rid of. I also have a set up and working turntable. (Although my wife just got all her dads vinyl since he passed away and he had a little less than I did, but lots of great late 60s / 70s stuff to add to my late 70s / 80s stuff)

I've been collecting vinyl since the mid 70's, when I first started collecting music to begin with. Never got rid of any of any of it, even after I started collecting CDs more prominently in the late 80s. Never thought it would make the comeback it has, though, but glad I never parted with it. Strange how the wheel turns.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I started collecting vinyl in the 70s and still have all of my old albums and 45s. I have all of my sisters records from the 60s as well.
