I love the old school looking Columbia labels on the Daft Punk records.

I also have to recommend the Spin Clean. It's pretty great and if you buy a lot of used vinyl, it's something that's great to have.

We have one at the store and we use it all the time.

Great haul Supermallet! I love me some early Roxy Music.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

We got a few copies of that Blade Runner LP in at my store. I put one back for me. I'm excited to get it.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I'm wondering what edition was used for that Blade Runner vinyl, because I have the deluxe edition CD set, and it's entirely different. For one thing, it obviously has more music, but the dialogue snippets are also different, and in different spots. The vinyl opens with Deckard analyzing a photo on his computer, for example, whereas the CD set I have starts with the main title music.

Interesting. Now I'm really excited to get one of these open. I still wish they had nixed the dialogue from this edition though.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Just an FYI, Mondo will be releasing The Raid: Redemption score LP tomorrow at some point. It comes in black and the variant is a smokey gray color.

What a surprise - I wasn't expecting this considering it's been a couple of years since the film came out. Or was that just last year?

I kind of like it. It's woven in and out of the music, so it feels like some kind of spoken word piece.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Ditto. They didn't even announce it on twitter yet, and it's been on sale for about an hour or so.

They announced it on Facebook, which triggered my memory, because I had forgotten all about it.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Ordered The Raid as well and it's already available for pick up at the gallery with my Oblivion and Stout Repo Man poster.

In other news Amazon delivered my mis priced @ $78 Public Enemy lp reissue set and even knocked off another $3 for guaranteed low price. It's back to $178 now.

My Repo Man poster arrived today, actually.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Ikea has these cubbies that are perfect for vinyl storage. You can get a shelf with four cubbies for $40. I was going to order four of them, and then noticed Ikea wanted to charge me $91 in shipping! For fucking flat pack. Dicks.

I went to Amazon, found some cheaper shelves, ordered three of those, and they'll arrive tomorrow. I never liked Ikea and this just confirms my feelings.

Link those Ikea ones. I'll go over to the one in Burbank and scoop them up or have them delivered. 91$ for shipping is bogus. Link the Amazon ones, too.

Thanks!

Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60135299/

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Foremost-32780...d_sim_sbs_hg_2

I could have gone to Burbank, but I'm really not a fan of Ikea, so when I saw the Amazon ones were cheaper and had Prime shipping, I went with those. Plus, all the customer reviews on Amazon said those shelves were perfect for vinyl, and there's even a customer photo of the shelves holding a bunch of records, so I was sold.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I bought two sets of the two cubes (local Ikea) and have my speakers on them. Maybe I will post pics this weekend.

Wow, those are pretty sweet. Both of them. I'll file these in my "things for my vinyl collection" to get.

Here's one set of speakers on the IKEA cubes. Other set is out of the frame.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

My friend recapped the amp and speakers. You should see his rigs. There's vintage and/or stereo on nearly every wall of his house. And his garage is full of some really sexy vintage projects. I'm happy to buy his cast offs.
