Re: The VINYL Thread!
The thing is, I probably wouldn't listen to the They Live soundtrack enough to make it worthwhile, and I heard the EFNY vinyl was just sourced from the most recent CD release.
So I'm not sure I'd go for a sub, given how expensive it is, and how I might not actually want all the records.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
So the MONDO Oblivion vinyl goes on sale at a random time tomorrow:
A few notes regarding this release: The copies we will be selling tomorrow will ONLY be clear. I know this is different than previous releases, with randomly-inserted Variant vinyl. The contributing factors to this decision are plentiful, but mostly selfish. We just wanted our copies to be special. That said, the copies that will be in record stores starting on 5/28 will be black ONLY.

Looks like that CLEAR vinyl is what's so special (maybe the artwork, too), but if you miss out on tomorrow's offering then you can get the regular black vinyl that will be released on 5/28.
EDIT - Amazon has the regular edition up for pre-order, as well:

Re: The VINYL Thread!
We finally managed to get 3 copies of the RSD Drive soundtrack in at my store and before they made it to the floor someone nabbed one.
I just looked it up on Ebay and one of those sold for $135 two days ago.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
We do have one left now but I'm buying it for myself. Sorry. The other two sold within two hours of me putting them out. I called my other store to see if they got them and they said they got two in and they went within a couple of hours of putting them out as well.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Luckily where I live, the local indie store - which also happens to be Bull Moose Music, and where the whole idea of Record Store Day originated - this year started to allow you to reserve up to three items, as long as you pick them up sometime on RSD. You can only do the reservations for a limited time, which I believe is the first three weeks to a month after the first announce of what's coming out.
That said, they do make no 100% gaurantees that you will get the item. However, as long as they get adequate stock, they will fill the reserves on a first come, first serve basis, and will let you know if they couldn't reserve something, so you can try and find it somewhere else. Gives you a better shot at getting at least a couple of things you might really want.
They also, rather conveniently, now have at least four locations within twenty minutes of my house, so if one place doesn't have something, the others still might. This worked to my buddy's advantage this past RSD, as the first locale ran out of the Pink Flyod "See Emily Play" single, and he was able to snag it at their second store we visited. (He missed out on the rezo op, too). Plus, their RSD prices are way better than Newbury Comics, who on average are charging $4 to $10 or more for the same items.

Just reading and re-reading this thread makes me happy. Damn it if it doesn't want to make me get a job at a vinyl store a couple of days a week just for the fun it.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
And for those that missed out on the Mondo edition of Drive on vinyl, Amazon has the pre-order link for it and still features the Tyler Stout artwork.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
I also just noticed that Amazon has increased shipping rates for vinyl and most likely other things, too. Current in stock and 3rd market seller vinyl ships for $3.99 now.
Minor buzz kill.

Damn, I forgot about that Blade Runner LP release. I'm going to try and track one down through one of our distributors. I hope it's not terribly limited.
