Yes it’s already been officially announced.

I am always behind on these things. I can't wait for the outrage at her outfits (or lack of) and dancing with a certain part of the population.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

I wonder if Rihanna will have a new album to coincide with that show?

It has been several years since she has released a album or any new singles charting on billboard or in heavy rotation on the radio.

I'm not there yet but I will say Anti-Hero and Maroon are both fabulous.

Her first video. For Anti-Hero. Directed by Taylor. She sure likes those mid-video interstitial scenes, doesn't she? At least this one is funny.

If I heard this song on the radio, I would have thought it was Wilson Phillips with a new song.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Does the new album have a lot of slow songs or ballads?

I am hoping more pop and maybe electro pop.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

It’s definitely more uptempo than the last two. And more than Lover before those. But not techno or dance heavy like Reputation.

More record-breaking from Taylor :

It was smart to widely publicize the album drop but not release even a snippet of a song ahead of time. Built up a lot of interest and curiosity.

I hope Swift enjoys that $35 she made from all of those streams.

And Taylor definitively answers that question on the 3AM track “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve”.

Also Nathan and Nora tackle the new album for two breezy hours on their latest episode of “Every Single Album : Taylor Swift”.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Another Taylor video. This one featuring Haim and other celebrity guests. The fairy godmother is a renown burlesque artist who my wife and I saw perform once in Vegas. She put on quite a show.
Anyway, it's a fun video. Didn't really think it was gonna be a single, but I do like the song - very catchy.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Per my daughter, the video confirms Speak Now is the next Taylor's Version album up :

each color corresponds to album, 1 is green, debut, 2 is yellow, fearless, all the way to 12 which is navy for midnights, then purple again for sn

Local independent record shop posted they had "signed" vinyl copies, it's a print included. Was in the area and stopped by and picked one up. Will give it a listen.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

New album's fine, good even, but feels like an artistic step back from her previous two albums.

Rumor is that these songs were pretty much ready and/or in a demo stage when covid hit, then put on the back-burner until they could schedule her next tour then put them out in time for that, and since then, during lock-down, she did Folklore/Evermore.

Yeah, this wasn’t revelatory. This was pretty cut and paste. A fine listen, but don’t think it requires continuous listening of. Nothing really stood out, maybe one or two songs but that’s about it, unfortunately.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

I think I like Folklore & Evermore more, but this is a fantastic album with lots of terrific tracks. Especially the 3AM version which might lose some of the “concept” of the official release but more than makes up for it with the bouncy “Paris”, the soaring “The Great War” and the paired emotional epics “Bigger Than The Whole Sky” and the Fleetwood Mac-esque “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve”.

And here is a fantastic deep dive into Taylor’s catalog. I just spent over an hour reading the whole thing and wondering about some of the rankings, but mostly just marveling at what a remarkable songwriter and artist she is. Her list of “bangers” probably goes 120 deep. And she’s only 32!

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

This is ridiculous!

Taylor Swift continues to be open and vulnerable for her craft.

This week, the singer-songwriter released a music video for her song "Anti-Hero" from her new album Midnights.

In the Instagram post accompanying the release of the video, Swift explained the video is a representation of her "nightmare scenarios and intrusive thoughts" playing out in real-time.

But after releasing the video, some viewers found one of the video's scenes triggering. In the scene, Swift's 'anti-hero' shakes her head when the singer gets on a scale and it shows "FAT," seemingly illustrating her inner critic and how hard she is to ignore. Some viewers misinterpreted the scene to be fat-shaming in nature.

On Wednesday, observant fans noticed that the version of the video on Apple Music no longer featured the scene with the scale. The YouTube version still includes the scene.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

In what world could Taylor Swift be considered "fat" outside of some creepy proana corners of the internet?
