Saw The Pretty Reckless in Anaheim last Thursday. They performed a couple of new songs from their upcoming album. Looks like the recording is completed, but the release has been pushed back to sometime in 2014.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
So, after seeing The Specials in July, and The Selecter in September, last night I completed the 2-Tone trifecta with The English Beat--a mere 32 years or so since any of them had a song on the charts.
English Beat is just Dave Wakeling and a bunch of new guys, but they sounded great, and Wakeling seems to be having a blast. Fun hearing all those hits.
Of those three bands, all of them sounded excellent, and they all have a great back catalog. But I have to say, The Specials and The English Beat were just kind of nostalgia shows (albeit quite good), whereas The Selecter has put out some strong recent material, and they felt more like a real current act that's still in the game.

On Tuesday I saw Frightened Rabbit and last night, Franz Ferdinand. Both were good shows.

Won Lotto Tickets to Jack Johnson at the Orpheum Theater. Much smaller than any place I've seen him. He allows taping (Audio)! I got the complete thing on audio, and 12 songs on video.

10/15/13 - NIN - Prudential Center --- Awesome show, much better than when I saw them at Lolla.
10/16/13 - Coheed & Cambria - Starland Ballroom --- Good show. I think this was my 4th or 5th time seeing them over the last 10 years. A lot of newer stuff that I haven't followed, but they still put on a hell of a show.
10/18/13 - Arcade Fire - 299 Messerole St. Brooklyn --- They only really played new songs, which I really love. They are in my top 5 bands and this show was an experience I didnt want to pass up. I knew it would be a shit show, and it was. Hot as balls, too crowded. But I still enjoyed it. Saw LCD's James Murphy and gave him a high five.
10/21/13 - Pearl Jam - Wells Fargo Center - Was one of the last bands on my list to see. 3 hour show. This is rock and roll alive and kicking.
Seeing Franz Ferdinand tonight at Hammerstein Ballroom.

10/21 - NIN and Godspeed You! Black Emperor
This was my first time experiencing Godspeed and I though they were great. I may have to go out and pick up a couple of their cds now.
NIN put on a good show but they played a little too much of the new material for my taste. I know Trent's gotta push the new cd, but I would have liked to have seen them play a couple of songs less of the new material.

Wow, me, my family, and best friend just got back from The Sounds show at The Belasco Theater in DTLA. It was EXCELLENT!
Maja had a grin from ear to ear - she knew we destroyed that venue. I've seen clips of the other shows and we conquered that shit tonight!!!!!!!1!
They'll be back in 2014 fo sho!
Their opening acts were: Gemini Club (hard rock & new wave) and Kids At The Bar (DJ Set) and they killed it!

Those Darlins
Gambles
10/26/13 @ Schuba's - Chicago, IL
Two fantastic sets - one acoustic from Gambles - sometimes mic-less and walking around the crowd - and a scorcher from Those Darlins, who now seared 'Screws Get Loose' into my skull...
