You can pick these up as a box set. It's an Amazon exclusive:
http://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Box-Set...6041377&sr=8-2
Price is $64. This is the cheapest option so far.

I loved when Muchmusic used to play their videos for Red Rocks. I think it's one of the great live performance.
Do you suppose the DVD will still have the "special effects" or will they be minimized?

The zootv fox tv special would have been a great extra. Some of the footage is included. I think it was only 45 mins, so they could have included it on the 2nd disc.
Also, it would have been great if they had made retrospective featuretes with some new interviews.
Other than that, these sets were amazing.

don't count on yourmusic or bmg adding much else to their catalogue any time soon. they're on the brink of extinction.

now that we know Under A Blood Red Sky is getting remastered, I'm curious if they will expand Wide Awake In America to include an entire Unforgettable Fire tour performance

I wonder if they will do a super deluxe cd/dvd of Rattle and Hum? When this album was released in '88, I remember it was ripped apart by the critics. After the critical acclaim of The Joshua Tree, a U2 backlash was BOUND to happen. Still, I think it holds up pretty well today. It turned 20 this year, so maybe we'll get an anniversary edition this Nov/Dec. Maybe a 15th Anniversary edition of the underrated Zooropa, too?
Next year I guess the Big One, Achtung Baby will be released, as well as Unforgettable Fire. Can't wait.

about Rattle And Hum, I'd love to see an updated edition of the DVD, but I doubt it since Paramount owns the rights to it and I doubt they'd give it up so Universal could give it the kickass treatment that they've given ZooTV and Popmart

Allmusic goes over the bonus discs
In short: Boy's is pretty raw and energetic, October's is exceptional, and War's kind of blows. That is genius of U2 to have the bonus discs pretty much mimic the proper albums.

They are $19.99 each at BB this week, so roughly the same price after tax. You don't get the box/poster, but I really don't care much for those anyway. The funny thing is, if you buy them from Amazon individually, Boy is 19.99, but the other 2 are 27.99. I figured they would all have the same price.

too bad they don't have a "deluxe box set" option for each album like Joshua Tree. But then, I suppose with the state of the music industry, it's not a safe investment. However, I do believe we will likely see that treatment when it comes time for the remastered Achtung Baby, as that is generally the most beloved and biggest selling album next to Joshua, and even though there's the great Zoo TV tour and all of the music videos are on 90-00, there's still a lot from that era that could be unearthed.

Amazon's bummed - I think they're gonna get a lot canceled orders due to their delay.
I'm not canceling, as these aren't exactly new albums that I need to hear a.s.a.p.

By the way, all three are available at Best Buy on Tuesday for $19.99 each.

at that price, i just might cancel too. the only reason i bought the amazon set is because it was the cheapest option. who cares about the box, anyway?

Truth be told though, out of their first three albums, I think Boy is their best, and it's second only to Achtung Baby as my favorite album of theirs.

I picked these up at best Buy on my way to work today. I've only made it through the first disc of "Boy," but I'm pretty impressed so far. I like the packaging, especially the lengthy booklets. I don't like the sleeves for the discs, though. I always worry about scratching discs with these types of sleeves.
One thing though: The Best Buy near me only had "War" out on the shelves. Even at 3:30 in the afternoon they hadn't yet put the others out on the floor. Somebody had to go looking for them.
