"I met a gin soaked bar-room queen down in Memphis. She tried to take me upstairs for a ride. She had to heave me right across her shoulder, cause I just can't seem to drink you off my mind."

Kristofferson can really write 'em, can't he?

A recent standout:

"Bitch, I love you" - "Bitch, I Love You" by Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears

And, while it's not necessarily a great line, I always get excited hearing Stan Bush sing, "You've got the touch/You've got the power, yeah!"

That song also has one of my favorite lines ever: "Little old lady got mutilated late last night". The alliteration just rolls off the tongue!

Rennie Sparks writes fantastic lyrics. Here's another great opening couplet, from "The Snow White Diner"
I am eating hashbrowns at the Snow White Diner/ Outside cars are honking, flashing lights on the bridge/ They're pulling a car up from the bottom of the frozen lake.
