Chills. Or maybe it's just too cold outside, but this is a freakin' awesome recording. With a nice new Air album coming out and a new Lucinda Williams tomorrow, this is one happy moi.

Can't get into this album at all. It's maudlin, depressing and there's not a memorable song in the bunch. The guys voice is depressing. Then again, I thought Funeral was vastly overrated.

For anyone who's got the deluxe edition, could you give us a description?
From what I've heard, the only extras are printed booklets (no bonus disc).
Is the cool packaging worth the extra cash?

So, was the poster folded up in the box or was it a giveaway?
Does it just reproduce the cover art?

Thanks for the pictures!
I'll spring for the Limited Edition, since I've got a Google Checkout bonus burning a hole in my pocket.

no one has mentioned it yet, but there was a manufacturing delay with the lp, and it's expected to be released around may 8.

Good album, pales mightily in comparison to the best album of the year, Copia.

Just as a heads up...I bought this at BB and it doesn't come with any of the merge stuff or the poster. The one I bought in store came with the two flip books and the holographic cover. The limited edition is $11.99 at BB, regular edition is $9.99. The poster and promo stuff looks pretty cool, though.

For those who just want the basic disc/no frills it is a reasonable $7.99 at Circuit City...which is decent as a blind buy for CDs.

I'll go against popular opinion (at least from critics) here. I thought Funeral was a very good but very overrated album. I think Neon Bible is utter perfection. I can't believe how much I love this album.

I'm in the same camp as you (although I wouldn't call it perfection) I like this one a lot more than Funeral. So far I think it's between this and Teddybears for my favourite album of 2007. (Although Teddybears came out originally in 2006 but as an import)

I bought the special edition and, although it is nice, the regular edition from CC at $7.99 is the much better deal. I highly doubt I will ever look at the two flip books again. They are pretty much useless.

i second that. but 11.99 still ain't bad for a new release!
