Release dates are given by people who claim to be "in the know" and these dates come and go.

Perhaps we should close the thread until the album is released and between now and then only post about officially or unofficially cancelled concerts.

Gotta love it when a Mod also posts negativity in a thread....

Axl is a god, please do not besmirch the great Mr. Rose.... bad mod... so bad.... lol

Besides, all previous speculated release dates by those in the know, mean nothing unless Axl says it will be out then.

So far, the only thing Axl has said is, "It will be this year"

Now... back to my Axl shrine so I may continue to pray for the album that is 10 years and $13 million in the making....

GN'R Push Album To Next Year!

Guns N Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is now odds on to his records shops in 2007 after the band's label admitted this week they were none the wiser to a November release schedule, reports Soundgenerator.

Axl Rose had recently revealed his intention to get the $15m, ten-year-old project onto the shelves before the end of the year, and a press release for the Chinese Democracy Tour at the beginning of October 2006 also stated that "there are only 13 Tuesdays left between now and the end of the year" - dropping a hint that the album would be released on a Tuesday between October 3rd and December 19th.

However, it looks near impossible that the album will be released in time for Christmas as the band's label, Universal Records, claimed this week that they had yet to received any information regarding a release date. With a likely four to six week turnaround required from GNR's management delivering the masterwork (not to mentioned publicity and promotion) it looks extremely unlikely the set will drop now until February, with January a traditional dead-zone for big new albums.

In other news, a new live DVD is in the pipeline for February. "Guns 'N' Roses - Live In Chicago" will be released on February 5th 2007 (we're sure of that), and was recorded at Chicago's Allstate Arena.
Apparently, the band's manager, Merck Mercuriadis, has refuted this information.

That looks like that might be the April 9, 1992 Chicago show. Nice. (I know the date because it was just three days after I saw 'em in OKC, and it's one of only three or four shows where "Coma" was played.) Hopefully the tracklist is just incomplete, as according to GNRontour.com, quite a few other songs followed "Coma."

04.09.92 - Rosemont Horizon, Rosemont, IL

opening act: Smashing Pumpkins

set: Nightrain, Mr. Brownstone, Live And Let Die, Attitude, It's So Easy, Wild Horses [Intro] / Patience, Double Talkin' Jive, Civil War, Welcome To The Jungle, Piano Solo, November Rain, You Could Be Mine, Drum Solo, Guitar Solo, Godfather Theme, Coma, Don't Cry [w/ Shannon Hoon], Bad Obsession, Sail Away Sweet Sister / Bad Time [Intro] / Sweet Child O' Mine, Only Women Bleed [Intro] / Knockin' On Heaven's Door
encore 1: So Fine, Move To The City
encore 2: Estranged, Mother [Intro] / Paradise City

audio/video recording?: video [pro-shot, incomplete], audio

notes: A video of this show was stolen from GN'R's video crew. Special guest performance by Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon. Before 'Live And Let Die,' Axl talks about the things he said in his Rolling Stone interview about his upbringing. After 'Civil War,' Axl says that he always sees the 18-25 year old "potheads" in the audience! Before 'November Rain,' Axl says, "I'm gonna play this song like they write Spin magazine - I'm gonna blindfold myself and jerk-off and see what comes out!"

I was at that April 9, 1992 show!!!!!! It was my first-ever concert and I LOVED it. People are still shocked when I tell them how Smashing Pumpkins got mad that the crowd was indifferent to them (they weren't big yet).

(And I may allegedly have a DVD bootleg of that stolen tape...)

Excellent. The OKC show, just a few days before Chicago, was my first-ever concert, too. And the Pumpkins weren't treated any better here--they were booed off-stage after just a few songs (I helped--and then they went on to become my favorite band in the mid-to-late Nineties--funny how that works). I always thought they'd have had a better reception in their home town, but I guess not. Not at that time, anyway.

Looking forward to the DVD--just hope that it's the full show, and doesn't end with "Coma." The bootleg DVD you may or may not have--is it the full concert?

I'm sure it is the full show, it did say tracks include and not the tracks are...

Besides... what kind of Mickey Mouse outfit would put out part of a concert on DVD?...
