My biggest conflict:
Jay-Z - Fever Ray - deadmau5
Also kinda bummed I'm going to have to miss Major Lazer for Muse. But Muse is worth it, especially if they bring their full show.

They were suppose to play, but they were among the handful of bands not make it due to the vocano, Gary Numan was the other one that I really wanted to see that missed as well.
Incredible weekend, and even though my old ass was walking gingerly everyday, I am ready for next year.

Glad you enjoyed the festival. I will definitely be going back again as well, even though it was BY FAR the most packed I had ever seen it. I've been the last 5 years, and I think it was even more people than when RATM played their first reunion show in 2007. And that day was nuts.
How was camping? I went to the dance tent in the campgrounds on Thursday night. That was kinda interesting...hadn't ever been before Friday in the past so it was cool to see the cars/tents all set up together. There was definite energy with the festival officially starting just 12 hours later...

Re: Coachella 2010
It was crowded and we got caught in some bad traffic on Friday, but still had a great time.
Top performances that I saw were:
LCD Soundsystem
Faith No More
Grizzly Bear
Muse
Pavement

My 4th and it was the best. My top favorites are Muse, Fever Ray, Orbital, Gossip and Phoenix in that order. Honorable Mention: Charlotte Gainsbourg, Plastikman, Public Image Limited, Beach House, 2manydjs, Atoms for Peace, The Specials and Hockey.

Nope :-/ But I stayed anyways. Still one of my favorite bands, and although I really enjoy the Major Lazer album (and the mixtapes), I trust that I saw the more visually stunning show given by Muse...as opposed to Majar Lazer's side-show spectacle.
The towers of light were just too big for the stage, I suppose. Instead, they used three large vertical screens that I assume still used the same videos. But they definitely brought the lasers.

Loved Grizzly Bear. Such a good blend of classy and hypnotic. And they ROCKED it on Lullaby.

Not really a fan of most but will check out Duran Duran and for sure Chromeo.
I was really close to seeing them once in 09' at Hard L.A. but unfortunately SWAT had to come in and shut down the rave
I was fortunate to see Crystal Castles though. Man was it horrible ...

A couple of those Crystal Castles tunes are faves from '10 for me. I love that they are streaming some of these shows. Surprised me last night.

Re: Coachella Streaming Live APR 15-17 YouTube
I remember reading in one of the UK music rags that Brett Anderson never really cared for 'making it' big in the US - as far as I can tell their 1993 (11 cities) and '95 (12 cities) tours were their only extensive US tours. Their 1997 tour only went to six US cities,

it also surpremely sucks that they are not streaming any of the DJ/electronic dance acts sets, I'd kill to see/hear Leftfield's performance

Wow. This is awesome.
Thanks for letting us know about this, VHS. I'd much rather watch it like this than fight those huge crowds.
