Over 400 CD's in the collection, mostly British artists. Though we love music, my hubby and I have only purchased 3 CD's this year to make way for our expanding DVD collection. 100 DVD's and counting.

In the 500 or so area... If I had kept EVERY CD I've owned, though, I guess it might be near 1,000 -- which is a lot of CDs to move, so I pretty regularly cull out stuff on Ebay, etc. If only I could keep from buying NEW ones!

I have over 300 CD's and about the same DVD's but I've had to slow down my buys as I've put myself on a budget. As for collections, I have a friend who work for a music company and he has 30,000 + in one of his bedrooms. Well it was a bedroom once. Anytime I want to listen to something I haven't got he's a pretty good souce to try. He also has his own mixing setup which means he can do some great party disc.

King Crimson CDs: 40
Genesis: 23
Marillion: 29
Phish: 24 (those live releases will get 'ya!)
Sick, sick, sick

I have around 650 albums - equating to around 850 discs due to the large number of box sets / double or triple CD's I seem to collect. It has gotten quite silly the number I buy a month since I got a proper job (i.e. not part time at Pizza Hut!).
I don't have any albums copied from MP3 or my friends. Although not as important as the music, I enjoy having the actual CD with booklet and artowrk on the disc etc etc. CDR's just aren't the same.

I have about 700 CDs. I've slowed down lately although thanks to people on this board and a slew of emerging artists I think I may start my habit again soon.
Is it me or has the last couple of years in music been really bad? I think that now things are finally beginning to become interesting again. For me my interest was renewed with The Strokes, the new Pulp album, and Aphex Twin's DruQs.
Maybe I'm just getting old and not seeking out music the way I used to although this board has been a great outlet to be exposed to new artists.
