It wasn't going up on Peacock until today.

High-gloss, high-concept schlock, I frickin' loved it! 4/5.

Ran the unrated cut last night (held out and never watched the theatrical) and it was a really fun watch, especially the second half. Bring on sequels!

I waited for the Peacock stream as well (they also have the PG-13 cut, BTW). What a fun ride this was. Unlike Malignant, I found myself laughing with the movie. I hope SHOUT! releases this on on 4K UHD BD cos this is definitely a must-own for me. Bring on the sequel.

For anyone who saw the PG-13 cut, what are the differences. I have Peacock so I could find out for myself, but I'm too lazy right now.

the PG-13 really works here.
Agreed on all counts. I thought it was pretty good. Most horror movies don't resonate with me anymore, so I appreciate that this one was kind of light on the standard horror aspects.

Count me as someone who didn't like this at all. Predictable and ludicrous... and I would like to know why a machete was sitting on top of a copying machine for M3GAN to grab? The pressure washer was stupid too.

It's an office paper cutter.

I wouldn't be surprised to find a machete in an office like that before seeing a paper cutter.

Yeah, those are pretty normal to find in an office environment. We have one in ours and that thing absolutely would fuck someone up.

Re: M3GAN (2023, P: Blum, Wan, D: Johnstone)

Watched this tonight on Peacock. Pretty decent movie. Good modern take on the Chucky/Child’s Play type of concept.

Some silly/over the top aspects but it worked. Definitely an effectively creepy film. The standout kill was definitely Brandon. That was pretty brutal.

The characters of Gemma and Cady were well acted overall. The boss character (David) was annoying but I get we were supposed to dislike him so his kill was better.

I liked it overall and will watch a sequel.

Re: M3GAN (2023, P: Blum, Wan, D: Johnstone)

The unrated version is a few seconds shorter than the theatrical. I always watch the theatrical versions first since that’s what played in theaters, as said here they wanted it to be PG-13 for some reason so that’s part of the movie’s history.

This was entertaining but not ground-breaking. Obviously a commentary on how we rely on technology too much.

Were you expecting this movie to be ground-breaking?
