It was OK. Entertaining. But I thought it was sillier than I expected it would be

This was entertaining, but I don't think it's worthy of all the gushing it's getting from critics. I think this was a case where the movie came out with all of the stigmas attached to a typical early January release , and when it didn't suck on all levels, everyone was surprised and reacted more generously than normal. The movie had a good satirical message, but it truly wasn't very interesting unless Megan herself was on screen. I can understand them wanting to fast track a sequel and strike while the iron is hot, but I think this will wind up being along the same lines as other eccentric villain horror series; the audience is rooting for the killer to off a bunch of annoying characters.

Pretty impressive for a low budget movie that most assumed would be bad. Good word of mouth definitely helped it get more eyes in the States at least.

This is now on PVOD today. $19.99 rental and $25 purchase.
Not sure when it will hit Peacock. I think Universal wants to make some money selling digital copies 1st since this was a hit.

Fuck that $25 nonsense for a fucking digital movie, they are getting ridiculous with these prices. I will grab it when it is reasonably priced, though.

It's fandango at home, so it's 'still in theater' early pricing.
Based on other new films that have moved to Peacock, this should hit sometime in February if it follows the same schedule.

This was pretty good. Creepy as hell. Well done and acted. You’d think Megan was a cgi doll, but it’s actually a real little girl. Nicely done by one of my most attractive actresses on tv when she was on Girls. Williams is so cute.

It was OK but already feels overpraised and made for the memes rather than being anything more. I can think of a half dozen better “killer robots” movies …. frankly compared to the far creepier and more thoughtful Ex Machina it doesn’t really have anything much to “say,” but guess that’s all it really wants to be. I liked the director’s Housebound much more.

I had a lot of fun watching this, enough that the ridiculous lapses in logic didn't bother me at all, only gave me a good chuckle. Like the boss is rightfully concerned about keeping this potential billion dollar idea under wraps fearing copycats, so instead of keeping it in the lab they send it to the employees house, where she takes it out in public and introduces it to everyone she meets, saying, "Well, I guess as long as no one takes a picture it's okay."
Yeah, there's hardly any cameras around these days.
And I got so excited during the kill spree scene when the soundtrack started playing The Skatt Brothers "Walk The Night" from Cruising. Seemed like such a random choice, but it's such a great cinematic song I'm not surprised someone else wanted to use it.
Big audience, and I saw lots of parents who bringing daughters clearly ten to twelve years old, which I thought was cool. I think it's good when kids are interested in seeing movies that may be a little too mature for them.

This was a fun film. And really well done. Can't wait to see the unrated version. On board for a sequel.

Enjoyed this. I think the teenagers got this one right (that’s the crowd that goes to the movies almost every weekend and just sees whatever is playing).
I particularly liked that the movie was so effective (AND funny) without resorting to gore and gross out bullshit.
the PG-13 really works here.
