Something’s Gotta Give is certainly up there for surprising nudity. The Whole Nine Yards was also surprising just because of how they set it up, but it wasn’t shocking or anything.

Ha, my mom knows Craig Hosoda’s mom and mentioned the book years ago. I was interested but it would’ve felt weird to buy a copy.

I watched Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw free on Prime last month just before its contract ran out. I only heard about it because some nostalgia FB page posted a pic of Carter and all the pervs mentioned that movie… so I watched it. The scenes were worth watching the dumb movie for. I thought about mentioning it here but wasn’t sure what the right thread would be, as Last Movie I Watched seems like kind of a black hole.

Let The Right One In - while nothing sexual in and of itself, an underage girl that also crawls into bed with her underage co-star is kind of shocking to see in 2008. Damn good movie though.

Did you ever hear the origin story of the book? Hosoda was part of the crew on Howard the Duck, and was mentioning to a fellow crewmember how beautiful Lea Thompson was. The co-worker asked, "did you see her nude scene in All The Right Moves?", and Hosoda immediately realized there should be a resource where you could find this information. Again, before there was something called the Internet.

The website for the Bare Facts book is still up. Doesn't appear to have been updated since 2006. Beware, though, it has frames, so you'll have to use Netscape instead of IE.

I won't post a link to the site since there is a topless image of Christina Ricci on one of the pages I clicked, but it should be too difficult for anyone to figure out.

Old sites like that that are still up but haven't been updated in more than a decade kind of fascinate me. It's almost like an archaeological dig.

The passage of time is a weird thing. The last update was in 2006, which doesn't seem that long ago to me, but it's like the difference between 1966 and 1982, or 1978 and 1994.

All the drive in theaters I remember had the back of the screen to the highway so you couldn't see it from the road. You had to walk into the woods on the other side.

Other than Bobby Jo and the Outlaw, Carter was also originally cast as a playmate in Apocalypse Now, but backed out when she got the Wonder Woman role. She was involved long enough to have shot a fake Playboy photo session, at least the centerfold, the prop of which was sold at an auction awhile back. There are pics of it floating around online, and internet movie nudity sleuths have determined that it is real.

Speaking of Bare Facts and sleuths, remember those Celebrity Skin and Celebrity Sleuth magazines that had photos and film stills of nude celebrities? It was a different era.
